[23] وَاللَّهُ أَعلَمُ بِما يوعونَ
[23] তারা যা সংরক্ষণ করে, আল্লাহ তা জানেন।
[23] And Allâh knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds),

[24] فَبَشِّرهُم بِعَذابٍ أَليمٍ
[24] অতএব, তাদেরকে যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তির সুসংবাদ দিন।
[24] So announce to them a painful torment.

[25] إِلَّا الَّذينَ ءامَنوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُم أَجرٌ غَيرُ مَمنونٍ
[25] কিন্তু যারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে ও সৎকর্ম করে, তাদের জন্য রয়েছে অফুরন্ত পুরস্কার।
[25] Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise).

بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু

[1] وَالسَّماءِ ذاتِ البُروجِ
[1] শপথ গ্রহ-নক্ষত্র শোভিত আকাশের,
[1] By the heaven, holding the big stars

[2] وَاليَومِ المَوعودِ
[2] এবং প্রতিশ্রুত দিবসের,
[2] And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection);

[3] وَشاهِدٍ وَمَشهودٍ
[3] এবং সেই দিবসের, যে উপস্থিত হয় ও যাতে উপস্থিত হয়
[3] And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of ‘Arafât (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hîjjah];

[4] قُتِلَ أَصحٰبُ الأُخدودِ
[4] অভিশপ্ত হয়েছে গর্ত ওয়ালারা অর্থাৎ,
[4] Cursed were the people of the Ditch (in the story of the Boy and the King).

[5] النّارِ ذاتِ الوَقودِ
[5] অনেক ইন্ধনের অগ্নিসংযোগকারীরা;
[5] Of fire fed with fuel,

[6] إِذ هُم عَلَيها قُعودٌ
[6] যখন তারা তার কিনারায় বসেছিল।
[6] When they sat by it (fire),

[7] وَهُم عَلىٰ ما يَفعَلونَ بِالمُؤمِنينَ شُهودٌ
[7] এবং তারা বিশ্বাসীদের সাথে যা করেছিল, তা নিরীক্ষণ করছিল।
[7] And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them).

[8] وَما نَقَموا مِنهُم إِلّا أَن يُؤمِنوا بِاللَّهِ العَزيزِ الحَميدِ
[8] তারা তাদেরকে শাস্তি দিয়েছিল শুধু এ কারণে যে, তারা প্রশংসিত, পরাক্রান্ত আল্লাহর প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছিল,
[8] And they had no fault except that they believed in Allâh, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise!

[9] الَّذى لَهُ مُلكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلىٰ كُلِّ شَيءٍ شَهيدٌ
[9] যিনি নভোমন্ডল ও ভূমন্ডলের ক্ষমতার মালিক, আল্লাহর সামনে রয়েছে সবকিছু।
[9] To Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allâh is Witness over everything.

[10] إِنَّ الَّذينَ فَتَنُوا المُؤمِنينَ وَالمُؤمِنٰتِ ثُمَّ لَم يَتوبوا فَلَهُم عَذابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُم عَذابُ الحَريقِ
[10] যারা মুমিন পুরুষ ও নারীকে নিপীড়ন করেছে, অতঃপর তওবা করেনি, তাদের জন্যে আছে জাহান্নামের শাস্তি, আর আছে দহন যন্ত্রণা,
[10] Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allâh), then they will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire.

[11] إِنَّ الَّذينَ ءامَنوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُم جَنّٰتٌ تَجرى مِن تَحتِهَا الأَنهٰرُ ۚ ذٰلِكَ الفَوزُ الكَبيرُ
[11] যারা ঈমান আনে ও সৎকর্ম করে তাদের জন্যে আছে জান্নাত, যার তলদেশে প্রবাহিত হয় নির্ঝরিণীসমূহ। এটাই মহাসাফল্য।
[11] Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success.

[12] إِنَّ بَطشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَديدٌ
[12] নিশ্চয় তোমার পালনকর্তার পাকড়াও অত্যন্ত কঠিন।
[12] Verily, (O Muhammad (SAW)) the Seizure (Punishment) of your Lord is severe and painful. (See V.11:102)

[13] إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبدِئُ وَيُعيدُ
[13] তিনিই প্রথমবার অস্তিত্ব দান করেন এবং পুনরায় জীবিত করেন।
[13] Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection).

[14] وَهُوَ الغَفورُ الوَدودُ
[14] তিনি ক্ষমাশীল, প্রেমময়;
[14] And He is Oft-Forgiving, full of love (towards the pious who are real true believers of Islâmic Monotheism),

[15] ذُو العَرشِ المَجيدُ
[15] মহান আরশের অধিকারী।
[15] Owner of the throne, the Glorious.

[16] فَعّالٌ لِما يُريدُ
[16] তিনি যা চান, তাই করেন।
[16] (He is the) Doer of whatsoever He intends (or wills).

[17] هَل أَتىٰكَ حَديثُ الجُنودِ
[17] আপনার কাছে সৈন্যবাহিনীর ইতিবৃত্ত পৌছেছে কি?
[17] Has the story reached you of the hosts,
