[5] وَقالوا قُلوبُنا فى أَكِنَّةٍ مِمّا تَدعونا إِلَيهِ وَفى ءاذانِنا وَقرٌ وَمِن بَينِنا وَبَينِكَ حِجابٌ فَاعمَل إِنَّنا عٰمِلونَ
[5] তারা বলে আপনি যে বিষয়ের দিকে আমাদের কে দাওয়াত দেন, সে বিষয়ে আমাদের অন্তর আবরণে আবৃত, আমাদের কর্ণে আছে বোঝা এবং আমাদের ও আপনার মাঝখানে আছে অন্তরাল। অতএব, আপনি আপনার কাজ করুন এবং আমরা আমাদের কাজ করি।
[5] And they say: “Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way).”

[6] قُل إِنَّما أَنا۠ بَشَرٌ مِثلُكُم يوحىٰ إِلَىَّ أَنَّما إِلٰهُكُم إِلٰهٌ وٰحِدٌ فَاستَقيموا إِلَيهِ وَاستَغفِروهُ ۗ وَوَيلٌ لِلمُشرِكينَ
[6] বলুন, আমিও তোমাদের মতই মানুষ, আমার প্রতি ওহী আসে যে, তোমাদের মাবুদ একমাত্র মাবুদ, অতএব তাঁর দিকেই সোজা হয়ে থাক এবং তাঁর কাছে ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা কর। আর মুশরিকদের জন্যে রয়েছে দুর্ভোগ,
[6] Say (O Muhammad SAW): “I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your Ilâh (God) is One Ilâh (God – Allâh), therefore take Straight Path to Him (with true Faith — Islâmic Monotheism) and obedience to Him, and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe to Al-Mushrikûn (the polytheists, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh).

[7] الَّذينَ لا يُؤتونَ الزَّكوٰةَ وَهُم بِالءاخِرَةِ هُم كٰفِرونَ
[7] যারা যাকাত দেয় না এবং পরকালকে অস্বীকার করে।
[7] Those who give not the Zakât and they are disbelievers in the Hereafter.

[8] إِنَّ الَّذينَ ءامَنوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُم أَجرٌ غَيرُ مَمنونٍ
[8] নিশ্চয় যারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে ও সৎকর্ম করে, তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে অফুরন্ত পুরস্কার।
[8] Truly, those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh and in His Messenger Muhammad SAW — Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them will be an endless reward that will never stop (i.e. Paradise).

[9] ۞ قُل أَئِنَّكُم لَتَكفُرونَ بِالَّذى خَلَقَ الأَرضَ فى يَومَينِ وَتَجعَلونَ لَهُ أَندادًا ۚ ذٰلِكَ رَبُّ العٰلَمينَ
[9] বলুন, তোমরা কি সে সত্তাকে অস্বীকার কর যিনি পৃথিবী সৃষ্টি করেছেন দু’দিনে এবং তোমরা কি তাঁর সমকক্ষ স্থীর কর? তিনি তো সমগ্র বিশ্বের পালনকর্তা।
[9] Say (O Muhammad SAW): “Do you verily disbelieve in Him Who created the earth in two Days And you set up rivals (in worship) with Him? That is the Lord of the ‘Alamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists).

[10] وَجَعَلَ فيها رَوٰسِىَ مِن فَوقِها وَبٰرَكَ فيها وَقَدَّرَ فيها أَقوٰتَها فى أَربَعَةِ أَيّامٍ سَواءً لِلسّائِلينَ
[10] তিনি পৃথিবীতে উপরিভাগে অটল পর্বতমালা স্থাপন করেছেন, তাতে কল্যাণ নিহিত রেখেছেন এবং চার দিনের মধ্যে তাতে তার খাদ্যের ব্যবস্থা করেছেন-পূর্ণ হল জিজ্ঞাসুদের জন্যে।
[10] He placed therein (i.e. the earth) firm mountains from above it, and He blessed it, and measured therein its sustenance (for its dwellers) in four Days equal (i.e. all these four ‘days’ were equal in the length of time), for all those who ask (about its creation).

[11] ثُمَّ استَوىٰ إِلَى السَّماءِ وَهِىَ دُخانٌ فَقالَ لَها وَلِلأَرضِ ائتِيا طَوعًا أَو كَرهًا قالَتا أَتَينا طائِعينَ
[11] অতঃপর তিনি আকাশের দিকে মনোযোগ দিলেন যা ছিল ধুম্রকুঞ্জ, অতঃপর তিনি তাকে ও পৃথিবীকে বললেন, তোমরা উভয়ে আস ইচ্ছায় অথবা অনিচ্ছায়। তারা বলল, আমরা স্বেচ্ছায় আসলাম।
[11] Then He rose over (Istawâ) towards the heaven when it was smoke, and said to it and to the earth: “Come both of you willingly or unwillingly.” They both said: “We come, willingly.”

[12] فَقَضىٰهُنَّ سَبعَ سَمٰواتٍ فى يَومَينِ وَأَوحىٰ فى كُلِّ سَماءٍ أَمرَها ۚ وَزَيَّنَّا السَّماءَ الدُّنيا بِمَصٰبيحَ وَحِفظًا ۚ ذٰلِكَ تَقديرُ العَزيزِ العَليمِ
[12] অতঃপর তিনি আকাশমন্ডলীকে দু’দিনে সপ্ত আকাশ করে দিলেন এবং প্রত্যেক আকাশে তার আদেশ প্রেরণ করলেন। আমি নিকটবর্তী আকাশকে প্রদীপমালা দ্বারা সুশোভিত ও সংরক্ষিত করেছি। এটা পরাক্রমশালী সর্বজ্ঞ আল্লাহর ব্যবস্থাপনা।
[12] Then He completed and finished from their creation (as) seven heavens in two Days and He made in each heaven its affair. And We adorned the nearest (lowest) heaven with lamps (stars) to be an adornment as well as to guard (from the devils by using them as missiles against the devils). Such is the Decree of Him the All-Mighty, the All-Knower.

[13] فَإِن أَعرَضوا فَقُل أَنذَرتُكُم صٰعِقَةً مِثلَ صٰعِقَةِ عادٍ وَثَمودَ
[13] অতঃপর যদি তারা মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয়, তবে বলুন, আমি তোমাদেরকে সতর্ক করলাম এক কঠোর আযাব সম্পর্কে আদ ও সামুদের আযাবের মত।
[13] But if they turn away, then say (O Muhammad SAW): “I have warned you of a Sâ’iqah (a destructive awful cry, torment, hit, a thunderbolt) like the Sâ’iqah which overtook ‘Ad and Thamûd (people).”

[14] إِذ جاءَتهُمُ الرُّسُلُ مِن بَينِ أَيديهِم وَمِن خَلفِهِم أَلّا تَعبُدوا إِلَّا اللَّهَ ۖ قالوا لَو شاءَ رَبُّنا لَأَنزَلَ مَلٰئِكَةً فَإِنّا بِما أُرسِلتُم بِهِ كٰفِرونَ
[14] যখন তাদের কাছে রসূলগণ এসেছিলেন সম্মুখ দিক থেকে এবং পিছন দিক থেকে এ কথা বলতে যে, তোমরা আল্লাহ ব্যতীত কারও পূজা করো না। তারা বলেছিল, আমাদের পালনকর্তা ইচ্ছা করলে অবশ্যই ফেরেশতা প্রেরণ করতেন, অতএব, আমরা তোমাদের আনীত বিষয় অমান্য করলাম।
[14] When the Messengers came to them, from before them and behind them (saying): “Worship none but Allâh” They said: “If our Lord had so willed, He would surely have sent down the angels. So indeed we disbelieve in that with which you have been sent.”

[15] فَأَمّا عادٌ فَاستَكبَروا فِى الأَرضِ بِغَيرِ الحَقِّ وَقالوا مَن أَشَدُّ مِنّا قُوَّةً ۖ أَوَلَم يَرَوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ الَّذى خَلَقَهُم هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنهُم قُوَّةً ۖ وَكانوا بِـٔايٰتِنا يَجحَدونَ
[15] যারা ছিল আদ, তারা পৃথিবীতে অযথা অহংকার করল এবং বলল, আমাদের অপেক্ষা অধিক শক্তিধর কে? তারা কি লক্ষ্য করেনি যে, যে আল্লাহ তাদেরকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন, তিনি তাদের অপেক্ষা অধিক শক্তিধর ? বস্তুতঃ তারা আমার নিদর্শনাবলী অস্বীকার করত।
[15] As for ‘Ad, they were arrogant in the land without right, and they said: “Who is mightier than us in strength?” See they not that Allâh, Who created them was mightier in strength than them. And they used to deny Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, revelations)!

[16] فَأَرسَلنا عَلَيهِم ريحًا صَرصَرًا فى أَيّامٍ نَحِساتٍ لِنُذيقَهُم عَذابَ الخِزىِ فِى الحَيوٰةِ الدُّنيا ۖ وَلَعَذابُ الءاخِرَةِ أَخزىٰ ۖ وَهُم لا يُنصَرونَ
[16] অতঃপর আমি তাদেরকে পার্থিব জীবনে লাঞ্ছনার আযাব আস্বাদন করানোর জন্যে তাদের উপর প্রেরণ করলাম ঝঞ্ঝাবায়ু বেশ কতিপয় অশুভ দিনে। আর পরকালের আযাব তো আরও লাঞ্ছনাকর এমতাবস্থায় যে, তারা সাহায্যপ্রাপ্ত হবে না।
[16] So We sent upon them furious wind in days of evil omen (for them) that We might give them a taste of disgracing torment in this present worldly life, but surely the torment of the Hereafter will be more disgracing, and they will never be helped.

[17] وَأَمّا ثَمودُ فَهَدَينٰهُم فَاستَحَبُّوا العَمىٰ عَلَى الهُدىٰ فَأَخَذَتهُم صٰعِقَةُ العَذابِ الهونِ بِما كانوا يَكسِبونَ
[17] আর যারা সামূদ, আমি তাদেরকে প্রদর্শন করেছিলাম, অতঃপর তারা সৎপথের পরিবর্তে অন্ধ থাকাই পছন্দ করল। অতঃপর তাদের কৃতকর্মের কারণে তাদেরকে অবমাননাকর আযাবের বিপদ এসে ধৃত করল।
[17] And as for Thamûd, We showed and made clear to them the Path of Truth (Islâmic Monotheism) through Our Messenger, (i.e. showed them the way of success), but they preferred blindness to guidance, so the Sâ’iqah (a destructive awful cry, torment, hit, a thunderbolt) of disgracing torment seized them, because of what they used to earn.

[18] وَنَجَّينَا الَّذينَ ءامَنوا وَكانوا يَتَّقونَ
[18] যারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছিল ও সাবধানে চলত, আমি তাদেরকে উদ্ধার করলাম।
[18] And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allâh, keep their duty to Him and avoid evil.

[19] وَيَومَ يُحشَرُ أَعداءُ اللَّهِ إِلَى النّارِ فَهُم يوزَعونَ
[19] যেদিন আল্লাহর শত্রুদেরকে অগ্নিকুন্ডের দিকে ঠেলে নেওয়া হবে। এবং ওদের বিন্যস্ত করা হবে বিভিন্ন দলে।
[19] And (remember) the Day that the enemies of Allâh will be gathered to the Fire, then they will be driven [(to the fire), former ones being withheld till their later ones will join them].

[20] حَتّىٰ إِذا ما جاءوها شَهِدَ عَلَيهِم سَمعُهُم وَأَبصٰرُهُم وَجُلودُهُم بِما كانوا يَعمَلونَ
[20] তারা যখন জাহান্নামের কাছে পৌঁছাবে, তখন তাদের কান, চক্ষু ও ত্বক তাদের কর্ম সম্পর্কে সাক্ষ্য দেবে।
[20] Till, when they reach it (Hell-fire), their hearing (ears) and their eyes, and their skins will testify against them as to what they used to do.

[21] وَقالوا لِجُلودِهِم لِمَ شَهِدتُم عَلَينا ۖ قالوا أَنطَقَنَا اللَّهُ الَّذى أَنطَقَ كُلَّ شَيءٍ وَهُوَ خَلَقَكُم أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَإِلَيهِ تُرجَعونَ
[21] তারা তাদের ত্বককে বলবে, তোমরা আমাদের বিপক্ষে সাক্ষ্য দিলে কেন? তারা বলবে, যে আল্লাহ সব কিছুকে বাকশক্তি দিয়েছেন, তিনি আমাদেরকেও বাকশক্তি দিয়েছেন। তিনিই তোমাদেরকে প্রথমবার সৃষ্টি করেছেন এবং তোমরা তাঁরই দিকে প্রত্যাবর্তিত হবে।
[21] And they will say to their skins, “Why do you testify against us?” They will say: “Allâh has caused us to speak,” — He causes all things to speak, and He created you the first time, and to Him you are made to return.”

[22] وَما كُنتُم تَستَتِرونَ أَن يَشهَدَ عَلَيكُم سَمعُكُم وَلا أَبصٰرُكُم وَلا جُلودُكُم وَلٰكِن ظَنَنتُم أَنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَعلَمُ كَثيرًا مِمّا تَعمَلونَ
[22] তোমাদের কান, তোমাদের চক্ষু এবং তোমাদের ত্বক তোমাদের বিপক্ষে সাক্ষ্য দেবে না ধারণার বশবর্তী হয়ে তোমরা তাদের কাছে কিছু গোপন করতে না। তবে তোমাদের ধারণা ছিল যে, তোমরা যা কর তার অনেক কিছুই আল্লাহ জানেন না।
[22] And you have not been hiding yourselves (in the world), lest your ears, and your eyes, and your skins should testify against you, but you thought that Allâh knew not much of what you were doing.

[23] وَذٰلِكُم ظَنُّكُمُ الَّذى ظَنَنتُم بِرَبِّكُم أَردىٰكُم فَأَصبَحتُم مِنَ الخٰسِرينَ
[23] তোমাদের পালনকর্তা সম্বন্ধে তোমাদের এ ধারণাই তোমাদেরকে ধ্বংস করেছে। ফলে তোমরা ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে গেছ।
[23] And that thought of yours which you thought about your Lord, has brought you to destruction, and you have become (this Day) of those utterly lost!

[24] فَإِن يَصبِروا فَالنّارُ مَثوًى لَهُم ۖ وَإِن يَستَعتِبوا فَما هُم مِنَ المُعتَبينَ
[24] অতঃপর যদি তারা সবর করে, তবুও জাহান্নামই তাদের আবাসস্থল। আর যদি তারা ওযরখাহী করে, তবে তাদের ওযর কবুল করা হবে না।
[24] Then, if they bear the torment patiently, then the Fire is the home for them, and if they seek to please Allâh, yet they are not of those who will ever be allowed to please Allâh.
