بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু

[1] يٰأَيُّهَا المُدَّثِّرُ
[1] হে চাদরাবৃত!
[1] O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped in garments!

[2] قُم فَأَنذِر
[2] উঠুন, সতর্ক করুন,
[2] Arise and warn!

[3] وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّر
[3] আপন পালনকর্তার মাহাত্ম্য ঘোষনা করুন,
[3] And magnify your Lord (Allâh)!

[4] وَثِيابَكَ فَطَهِّر
[4] আপন পোশাক পবিত্র করুন
[4] And purify your garments!

[5] وَالرُّجزَ فَاهجُر
[5] এবং অপবিত্রতা থেকে দূরে থাকুন।
[5] And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)!

[6] وَلا تَمنُن تَستَكثِرُ
[6] অধিক প্রতিদানের আশায় অন্যকে কিছু দিবেন না।
[6] And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of obedience to Allah as a favour to Him).

[7] وَلِرَبِّكَ فَاصبِر
[7] এবং আপনার পালনকর্তার উদ্দেশে সবর করুন।
[7] And be patient for the sake of your Lord (i.e. perform your duty to Allâh)!

[8] فَإِذا نُقِرَ فِى النّاقورِ
[8] যেদিন শিংগায় ফুঁক দেয়া হবে;
[8] Then, when the Trumpet is sounded (i.e. the second blowing of horn);

[9] فَذٰلِكَ يَومَئِذٍ يَومٌ عَسيرٌ
[9] সেদিন হবে কঠিন দিন,
[9] Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day —

[10] عَلَى الكٰفِرينَ غَيرُ يَسيرٍ
[10] কাফেরদের জন্যে এটা সহজ নয়।
[10] Far from easy for the disbelievers.

[11] ذَرنى وَمَن خَلَقتُ وَحيدًا
[11] যাকে আমি অনন্য করে সৃষ্টি করেছি, তাকে আমার হাতে ছেড়ে দিন।
[11] Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walîd bin Al-Mughîrah Al-Makhzûmî)!

[12] وَجَعَلتُ لَهُ مالًا مَمدودًا
[12] আমি তাকে বিপুল ধন-সম্পদ দিয়েছি।
[12] And then granted him resources in abundance.

[13] وَبَنينَ شُهودًا
[13] এবং সদা সংগী পুত্রবর্গ দিয়েছি,
[13] And children to be by his side!

[14] وَمَهَّدتُ لَهُ تَمهيدًا
[14] এবং তাকে খুব সচ্ছলতা দিয়েছি।
[14] And made life smooth and comfortable for him!

[15] ثُمَّ يَطمَعُ أَن أَزيدَ
[15] এরপরও সে আশা করে যে, আমি তাকে আরও বেশী দেই।
[15] After all that he desires that I should give more;

[16] كَلّا ۖ إِنَّهُ كانَ لِءايٰتِنا عَنيدًا
[16] কখনই নয়! সে আমার নিদর্শনসমূহের বিরুদ্ধাচরণকারী।
[16] Nay! Verily, he has been opposing Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations).

[17] سَأُرهِقُهُ صَعودًا
[17] আমি সত্ত্বরই তাকে শাস্তির পাহাড়ে আরোহণ করাব।
[17] I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As¬Sa’ûd, or) face a severe torment!

[18] إِنَّهُ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ
[18] সে চিন্তা করেছে এবং মনঃস্থির করেছে,
[18] Verily, he thought and plotted;

[19] فَقُتِلَ كَيفَ قَدَّرَ
[19] ধ্বংস হোক সে, কিরূপে সে মনঃস্থির করেছে!
[19] So let him be cursed! how he plotted!

[20] ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيفَ قَدَّرَ
[20] আবার ধ্বংস হোক সে, কিরূপে সে মনঃস্থির করেছে!
[20] And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted!
