بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু

[1] يس
[1] ইয়া-সীন
[1] Yâ-Sîn. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur’ân, and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings.]

[2] وَالقُرءانِ الحَكيمِ
[2] প্রজ্ঞাময় কোরআনের কসম।
[2] By the Qur’ân, full of wisdom (i.e. full of laws, evidences, and proofs),

[3] إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ المُرسَلينَ
[3] নিশ্চয় আপনি প্রেরিত রসূলগণের একজন।
[3] Truly, you (O Muhammad SAW) are one of the Messengers,

[4] عَلىٰ صِرٰطٍ مُستَقيمٍ
[4] সরল পথে প্রতিষ্ঠিত।
[4] On the Straight Path (i.e. on Allâh’s religion of Islâmic Monotheism).

[5] تَنزيلَ العَزيزِ الرَّحيمِ
[5] কোরআন পরাক্রমশালী পরম দয়ালু আল্লাহর তরফ থেকে অবতীর্ণ,
[5] (This is a Revelation) sent down by the All¬Mighty, the Most Merciful,

[6] لِتُنذِرَ قَومًا ما أُنذِرَ ءاباؤُهُم فَهُم غٰفِلونَ
[6] যাতে আপনি এমন এক জাতিকে সতর্ক করেন, যাদের পূর্ব পুরুষগণকেও সতর্ক করা হয়নি। ফলে তারা গাফেল।
[6] In order that you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are heedless.

[7] لَقَد حَقَّ القَولُ عَلىٰ أَكثَرِهِم فَهُم لا يُؤمِنونَ
[7] তাদের অধিকাংশের জন্যে শাস্তির বিষয় অবধারিত হয়েছে। সুতরাং তারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করবে না।
[7] Indeed the Word (of punishment) has proved true against most of them, so they will not believe.

[8] إِنّا جَعَلنا فى أَعنٰقِهِم أَغلٰلًا فَهِىَ إِلَى الأَذقانِ فَهُم مُقمَحونَ
[8] আমি তাদের গর্দানে চিবুক পর্যন্ত বেড়ী পরিয়েছি। ফলে তাদের মস্তক উর্দ্ধমুখী হয়ে গেছে।
[8] Verily! We have put on their necks iron collars reaching to the chins, so that their heads are raised up.

[9] وَجَعَلنا مِن بَينِ أَيديهِم سَدًّا وَمِن خَلفِهِم سَدًّا فَأَغشَينٰهُم فَهُم لا يُبصِرونَ
[9] আমি তাদের সামনে ও পিছনে প্রাচীর স্থাপন করেছি, অতঃপর তাদেরকে আবৃত করে দিয়েছি, ফলে তারা দেখে না।
[9] And We have put a barrier before them, and a barrier behind them, and We have covered them up, so that they cannot see.

[10] وَسَواءٌ عَلَيهِم ءَأَنذَرتَهُم أَم لَم تُنذِرهُم لا يُؤمِنونَ
[10] আপনি তাদেরকে সতর্ক করুন বা না করুন, তাদের পক্ষে দুয়েই সমান; তারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করবে না।
[10] It is the same to them whether you warn them or you warn them not, they will not believe.

[11] إِنَّما تُنذِرُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الذِّكرَ وَخَشِىَ الرَّحمٰنَ بِالغَيبِ ۖ فَبَشِّرهُ بِمَغفِرَةٍ وَأَجرٍ كَريمٍ
[11] আপনি কেবল তাদেরকেই সতর্ক করতে পারেন, যারা উপদেশ অনুসরণ করে এবং দয়াময় আল্লাহকে না দেখে ভয় করে। অতএব আপনি তাদেরকে সুসংবাদ দিয়ে দিন ক্ষমা ও সম্মানজনক পুরস্কারের।
[11] You can only warn him who follows the Reminder (the Qur’ân), and fears the Most Gracious (Allâh) unseen. Bear you to such one the glad tidings of forgiveness, and a generous reward (i.e. Paradise).

[12] إِنّا نَحنُ نُحىِ المَوتىٰ وَنَكتُبُ ما قَدَّموا وَءاثٰرَهُم ۚ وَكُلَّ شَيءٍ أَحصَينٰهُ فى إِمامٍ مُبينٍ
[12] আমিই মৃতদেরকে জীবিত করি এবং তাদের কর্ম ও কীর্তিসমূহ লিপিবদ্ধ করি। আমি প্রত্যেক বস্তু স্পষ্ট কিতাবে সংরক্ষিত রেখেছি।
[12] Verily, We give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before (them), and their traces[1] and all things We have recorded with numbers (as a record) in a Clear Book.

[13] وَاضرِب لَهُم مَثَلًا أَصحٰبَ القَريَةِ إِذ جاءَهَا المُرسَلونَ
[13] আপনি তাদের কাছে সে জনপদের অধিবাসীদের দৃষ্টান্ত বর্ণনা করুন, যখন সেখানে রসূল আগমন করেছিলেন।
[13] And put forward to them a similitude; the (story of the) dwellers of the town, [It is said that the town was Antioch (Antakiya)], when there came Messengers to them.

[14] إِذ أَرسَلنا إِلَيهِمُ اثنَينِ فَكَذَّبوهُما فَعَزَّزنا بِثالِثٍ فَقالوا إِنّا إِلَيكُم مُرسَلونَ
[14] আমি তাদের নিকট দুজন রসূল প্রেরণ করেছিলাম, অতঃপর ওরা তাদেরকে মিথ্যা প্রতিপন্ন করল। তখন আমি তাদেরকে শক্তিশালী করলাম তৃতীয় একজনের মাধ্যমে। তারা সবাই বলল, আমরা তোমাদের প্রতি প্রেরিত হয়েছি।
[14] When We sent to them two Messengers, they belied them both, so We reinforced them with a third, and they said: “Verily! We have been sent to you as Messengers.”

[15] قالوا ما أَنتُم إِلّا بَشَرٌ مِثلُنا وَما أَنزَلَ الرَّحمٰنُ مِن شَيءٍ إِن أَنتُم إِلّا تَكذِبونَ
[15] তারা বলল, তোমরা তো আমাদের মতই মানুষ, রহমান আল্লাহ কিছুই নাযিল করেননি। তোমরা কেবল মিথ্যাই বলে যাচ্ছ।
[15] They (people of the town) said: “You are only human beings like ourselves, and the Most Gracious (Allâh) has revealed nothing, you are only telling lies.”

[16] قالوا رَبُّنا يَعلَمُ إِنّا إِلَيكُم لَمُرسَلونَ
[16] রাসূলগণ বলল, আমাদের পরওয়ারদেগার জানেন, আমরা অবশ্যই তোমাদের প্রতি প্রেরিত হয়েছি।
[16] The Messengers said: “Our Lord knows that we have been sent as Messengers to you,

[17] وَما عَلَينا إِلَّا البَلٰغُ المُبينُ
[17] পরিস্কারভাবে আল্লাহর বাণী পৌছে দেয়াই আমাদের দায়িত্ব।
[17] “And our duty is only to convey plainly (the Message).”

[18] قالوا إِنّا تَطَيَّرنا بِكُم ۖ لَئِن لَم تَنتَهوا لَنَرجُمَنَّكُم وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِنّا عَذابٌ أَليمٌ
[18] তারা বলল, আমরা তোমাদেরকে অশুভ-অকল্যাণকর দেখছি। যদি তোমরা বিরত না হও, তবে অবশ্যই তোমাদেরকে প্রস্তর বর্ষণে হত্যা করব এবং আমাদের পক্ষ থেকে তোমাদেরকে যন্ত্রনাদায়ক শাস্তি স্পর্শ করবে।
[18] They (people) said: “For us, we see an evil omen from you, if you cease not, we will surely stone you, and a painful torment will touch you from us.”

[19] قالوا طٰئِرُكُم مَعَكُم ۚ أَئِن ذُكِّرتُم ۚ بَل أَنتُم قَومٌ مُسرِفونَ
[19] রসূলগণ বলল, তোমাদের অকল্যাণ তোমাদের সাথেই! এটা কি এজন্যে যে, আমরা তোমাদেরকে সদুপদেশ দিয়েছি? বস্তুতঃ তোমরা সীমা লংঘনকারী সম্প্রদায় বৈ নও।
[19] They (Messengers) said: “Your evil omens be with you! (Do you call it “evil omen”) because you are admonished? Nay, but you are a people Musrifûn (transgressing all bounds by committing all kinds of great sins, and by disobeying Allâh).

[20] وَجاءَ مِن أَقصَا المَدينَةِ رَجُلٌ يَسعىٰ قالَ يٰقَومِ اتَّبِعُوا المُرسَلينَ
[20] অতঃপর শহরের প্রান্তভাগ থেকে এক ব্যক্তি দৌড়ে এল। সে বলল, হে আমার সম্প্রদায় তোমরা রসূলগণের অনুসরণ কর।
[20] And there came a man running from the farthest part of the town. He said: “O my people! Obey the Messengers.
