بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু

[1] اقتَرَبَتِ السّاعَةُ وَانشَقَّ القَمَرُ
[1] কেয়ামত আসন্ন, চন্দ্র বিদীর্ণ হয়েছে।
[1] The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder (the people of Makkah requested Prophet Muhammad SAW to show them a miracle, so he showed them the splitting of the moon).

[2] وَإِن يَرَوا ءايَةً يُعرِضوا وَيَقولوا سِحرٌ مُستَمِرٌّ
[2] তারা যদি কোন নিদর্শন দেখে তবে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয় এবং বলে, এটা তো চিরাগত জাদু।
[2] And if they see a sign, they turn away, and say: “This is continuous magic.”

[3] وَكَذَّبوا وَاتَّبَعوا أَهواءَهُم ۚ وَكُلُّ أَمرٍ مُستَقِرٌّ
[3] তারা মিথ্যারোপ করছে এবং নিজেদের খেয়াল-খুশীর অনুসরণ করছে। প্রত্যেক কাজ যথাসময়ে স্থিরীকৃত হয়।
[3] They belied (the Verses of Allâh, this Qur’ân), and followed their own lusts. And every matter will be settled [according to the kind of deeds (good deeds will take their doers to Paradise, and similarly evil deeds will take their doers to Hell)].

[4] وَلَقَد جاءَهُم مِنَ الأَنباءِ ما فيهِ مُزدَجَرٌ
[4] তাদের কাছে এমন সংবাদ এসে গেছে, যাতে সাবধানবাণী রয়েছে।
[4] And indeed there has come to them news (in this Qur’ân) wherein there is (enough warning) to check (them from evil),

[5] حِكمَةٌ بٰلِغَةٌ ۖ فَما تُغنِ النُّذُرُ
[5] এটা পরিপূর্ণ জ্ঞান, তবে সতর্ককারীগণ তাদের কোন উপকারে আসে না।
[5] Perfect wisdom (this Qur’ân), but (the preaching of) warners benefit them not,

[6] فَتَوَلَّ عَنهُم ۘ يَومَ يَدعُ الدّاعِ إِلىٰ شَيءٍ نُكُرٍ
[6] অতএব, আপনি তাদের থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিন। যেদিন আহবানকারী আহবান করবে এক অপ্রিয় পরিণামের দিকে,
[6] So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing.

[7] خُشَّعًا أَبصٰرُهُم يَخرُجونَ مِنَ الأَجداثِ كَأَنَّهُم جَرادٌ مُنتَشِرٌ
[7] তারা তখন অবনমিত নেত্রে কবর থেকে বের হবে বিক্ষিপ্ত পংগপাল সদৃশ।
[7] They will come forth, with humbled eyes from (their) graves as if they were locusts spread abroad,

[8] مُهطِعينَ إِلَى الدّاعِ ۖ يَقولُ الكٰفِرونَ هٰذا يَومٌ عَسِرٌ
[8] তারা আহবানকারীর দিকে দৌড়াতে থাকবে। কাফেরা বলবেঃ এটা কঠিন দিন।
[8] Hastening towards The caller, the disbelievers will say: “This is a hard Day.”

[9] ۞ كَذَّبَت قَبلَهُم قَومُ نوحٍ فَكَذَّبوا عَبدَنا وَقالوا مَجنونٌ وَازدُجِرَ
[9] তাদের পূর্বে নূহের সম্প্রদায়ও মিথ্যারোপ করেছিল। তারা মিথ্যারোপ করেছিল আমার বান্দা নূহের প্রতি এবং বলেছিলঃ এ তো উম্মাদ। তাঁরা তাকে হুমকি প্রদর্শন করেছিল।
[9] The people of Nûh (Noah) denied (their Messenger) before them, They rejected Our slave, and said: “A madman!” and he was insolently rebuked and threatened.

[10] فَدَعا رَبَّهُ أَنّى مَغلوبٌ فَانتَصِر
[10] অতঃপর সে তার পালনকর্তাকে ডেকে বললঃ আমি অক্ষম, অতএব, তুমি প্রতিবিধান কর।
[10] Then he invoked his Lord (saying): “I have been overcome, so help (me)!”

[11] فَفَتَحنا أَبوٰبَ السَّماءِ بِماءٍ مُنهَمِرٍ
[11] তখন আমি খুলে দিলাম আকাশের দ্বার প্রবল বারিবর্ষণের মাধ্যমে।
[11] So We opened the gates of heaven with water pouring forth.

[12] وَفَجَّرنَا الأَرضَ عُيونًا فَالتَقَى الماءُ عَلىٰ أَمرٍ قَد قُدِرَ
[12] এবং ভুমি থেকে প্রবাহিত করলাম প্রস্রবণ। অতঃপর সব পানি মিলিত হল এক পরিকম্পিত কাজে।
[12] And We caused the spring to gush forth from the earth. So the waters (of the heaven and the earth) met for a matter predestined

[13] وَحَمَلنٰهُ عَلىٰ ذاتِ أَلوٰحٍ وَدُسُرٍ
[13] আমি নূহকে আরোহণ করালাম এক কাষ্ঠ ও পেরেক নির্মিত জলযানে।
[13] And We carried him on a (ship) made of planks and nails,

[14] تَجرى بِأَعيُنِنا جَزاءً لِمَن كانَ كُفِرَ
[14] যা চলত আমার দৃষ্টি সামনে। এটা তার পক্ষ থেকে প্রতিশোধ ছিল, যাকে প্রত্যখ্যান করা হয়েছিল।
[14] Floating under Our Eyes, a reward for him who had been rejected!

[15] وَلَقَد تَرَكنٰها ءايَةً فَهَل مِن مُدَّكِرٍ
[15] আমি একে এক নিদর্শনরূপে রেখে দিয়েছি। অতএব, কোন চিন্তাশীল আছে কি?
[15] And indeed, We have left this as a sign, Then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

[16] فَكَيفَ كانَ عَذابى وَنُذُرِ
[16] কেমন কঠোর ছিল আমার শাস্তি ও সতর্কবাণী।
[16] Then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?

[17] وَلَقَد يَسَّرنَا القُرءانَ لِلذِّكرِ فَهَل مِن مُدَّكِرٍ
[17] আমি কোরআনকে সহজ করে দিয়েছি বোঝার জন্যে। অতএব, কোন চিন্তাশীল আছে কি?
[17] And We have indeed made the Qur’ân easy to understand and remember, then is there any one who will remember (or receive admonition)?

[18] كَذَّبَت عادٌ فَكَيفَ كانَ عَذابى وَنُذُرِ
[18] আদ সম্প্রদায় মিথ্যারোপ করেছিল, অতঃপর কেমন কঠোর হয়েছিল আমার শাস্তি ও সতর্কবাণী।
[18] ‘Ad (people) belied (their Prophet, Hûd), then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?

[19] إِنّا أَرسَلنا عَلَيهِم ريحًا صَرصَرًا فى يَومِ نَحسٍ مُستَمِرٍّ
[19] আমি তাদের উপর প্রেরণ করেছিলাম ঝঞ্জাবায়ু এক চিরাচরিত অশুভ দিনে।
[19] Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity.

[20] تَنزِعُ النّاسَ كَأَنَّهُم أَعجازُ نَخلٍ مُنقَعِرٍ
[20] তা মানুষকে উৎখাত করছিল, যেন তারা উৎপাটিত খর্জুর বৃক্ষের কান্ড।
[20] Plucking out men as if they were uprooted stems of date-palms.
