بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু

[1] اقتَرَبَ لِلنّاسِ حِسابُهُم وَهُم فى غَفلَةٍ مُعرِضونَ
[1] মানুষের হিসাব-কিতাবের সময় নিকটবর্তী; অথচ তারা বেখবর হয়ে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিচ্ছে।
[1] Draws near for mankind their reckoning, while they turn away in heedlessness.

[2] ما يَأتيهِم مِن ذِكرٍ مِن رَبِّهِم مُحدَثٍ إِلَّا استَمَعوهُ وَهُم يَلعَبونَ
[2] তাদের কাছে তাদের পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে যখনই কোন নতুন উপদেশ আসে, তারা তা খেলার ছলে শ্রবণ করে।
[2] Comes not unto them an admonition (a chapter of the Qur’ân) from their Lord as a recent revelation but they listen to it while they play,

[3] لاهِيَةً قُلوبُهُم ۗ وَأَسَرُّوا النَّجوَى الَّذينَ ظَلَموا هَل هٰذا إِلّا بَشَرٌ مِثلُكُم ۖ أَفَتَأتونَ السِّحرَ وَأَنتُم تُبصِرونَ
[3] তাদের অন্তর থাকে খেলায় মত্ত। জালেমরা গোপনে পরামর্শ করে, সে তো তোমাদেরই মত একজন মানুষ; এমতাবস্থায় দেখে শুনে তোমরা তার যাদুর কবলে কেন পড়?
[3] With their hearts occupied (with evil things) Those who do wrong, conceal their private counsels, (saying): “Is this (Muhammad SAW) more than a human being like you? Will you submit to magic while you see it?”

[4] قالَ رَبّى يَعلَمُ القَولَ فِى السَّماءِ وَالأَرضِ ۖ وَهُوَ السَّميعُ العَليمُ
[4] পয়গম্বর বললেনঃ নভোমন্ডল ও ভুমন্ডলের কথাই আমার পালনকর্তা জানেন। তিনি সবকিছু শোনেন, সবকিছু জানেন।
[4] He (Muhammad SAW) said: “My Lord knows (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.”

[5] بَل قالوا أَضغٰثُ أَحلٰمٍ بَلِ افتَرىٰهُ بَل هُوَ شاعِرٌ فَليَأتِنا بِـٔايَةٍ كَما أُرسِلَ الأَوَّلونَ
[5] এছাড়া তারা আরও বলেঃ অলীক স্বপ্ন; না সে মিথ্যা উদ্ভাবন করেছে, না সে একজন কবি। অতএব সে আমাদের কাছে কোন নিদর্শন আনয়ন করুক, যেমন নিদর্শন সহ আগমন করেছিলেন পূর্ববর্তীগন।
[5] Nay, they say:”These (revelations of the Qur’ân which are revealed to Muhammad SAW) are mixed up false dreams! Nay, he has invented them! Nay, he is a poet! Let him then bring us an Ayâh (sign as a proof) like the ones (Prophets) the former were sent before (with)!”

[6] ما ءامَنَت قَبلَهُم مِن قَريَةٍ أَهلَكنٰها ۖ أَفَهُم يُؤمِنونَ
[6] তাদের পূর্বে যেসব জনপদ আমি ধবংস করে দিয়েছি, তারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেনি; এখন এরা কি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করবে?
[6] Not one of the towns (populations), of those which We destroyed, believed before them (though We sent them signs), will they then believe?

[7] وَما أَرسَلنا قَبلَكَ إِلّا رِجالًا نوحى إِلَيهِم ۖ فَسـَٔلوا أَهلَ الذِّكرِ إِن كُنتُم لا تَعلَمونَ
[7] আপনার পূর্বে আমি মানুষই প্রেরণ করেছি, যাদের কাছে আমি ওহী পাঠাতাম। অতএব তোমরা যদি না জান তবে যারা স্মরণ রাখে তাদেরকে জিজ্ঞেস কর।
[7] And We sent not before you (O Muhammad SAW) but men to whom We revealed, so ask the people of the Reminder [Scriptures – the Taurât (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel)] if you do not know.

[8] وَما جَعَلنٰهُم جَسَدًا لا يَأكُلونَ الطَّعامَ وَما كانوا خٰلِدينَ
[8] আমি তাদেরকে এমন দেহ বিশিষ্ট করিনি যে, তারা খাদ্য ভক্ষণ করত না এবং তারা চিরস্থায়ীও ছিল না।
[8] And We did not create them (the Messengers, with) bodies that ate not food, nor were they immortals,

[9] ثُمَّ صَدَقنٰهُمُ الوَعدَ فَأَنجَينٰهُم وَمَن نَشاءُ وَأَهلَكنَا المُسرِفينَ
[9] অতঃপর আমি তাদেরকে দেয়া আমার প্রতিশ্রুতি পূর্ণ করলাম সুতরাং তাদেরকে এবং যাদেরকে ইচ্ছা বাঁচিয়ে দিলাম এবং ধবংস করে ছিলাম সীমালঙ্ঘনকারীদেরকে।
[9] Then We fulfilled to them the promise, so We saved them and those whom We willed, but We destroyed Al-Musrifûn (i.e. disbelivers in Allah, in His Messengers, extravagants transgressors of Allah’s limits by committing crimes, oppression, polytheism and sins).

[10] لَقَد أَنزَلنا إِلَيكُم كِتٰبًا فيهِ ذِكرُكُم ۖ أَفَلا تَعقِلونَ
[10] আমি তোমাদের প্রতি একটি কিতাব অবর্তীর্ণ করেছি; এতে তোমাদের জন্যে উপদেশ রয়েছে। তোমরা কি বোঝ না?
[10] Indeed, We have sent down for you (O mankind) a Book, (the Qur’ân) in which there is Dhikrukum, (your Reminder or an honour for you i.e. honour for the one who follows the teaching of the Qur’ân and acts on its teachings). Will you not then understand?

[11] وَكَم قَصَمنا مِن قَريَةٍ كانَت ظالِمَةً وَأَنشَأنا بَعدَها قَومًا ءاخَرينَ
[11] আমি কত জনপদের ধ্বংস সাধন করেছি যার অধিবাসীরা ছিল পাপী এবং তাদের পর সৃষ্টি করেছি অন্য জাতি।
[11] How many a town (community), given to wrong-doing, have We destroyed, and raised up after them another people!

[12] فَلَمّا أَحَسّوا بَأسَنا إِذا هُم مِنها يَركُضونَ
[12] অতঃপর যখন তারা আমার আযাবের কথা টের পেল, তখনই তারা সেখান থেকে পলায়ন করতে লাগল।
[12] Then, when they perceived (saw) Our Torment (coming), behold, they (tried to) flee from it.

[13] لا تَركُضوا وَارجِعوا إِلىٰ ما أُترِفتُم فيهِ وَمَسٰكِنِكُم لَعَلَّكُم تُسـَٔلونَ
[13] পলায়ন করো না এবং ফিরে এস, যেখানে তোমরা বিলাসিতায় মত্ত ছিলে ও তোমাদের আবাসগৃহে; সম্ভবত; কেউ তোমাদের জিজ্ঞেস করবে।
[13] Flee not, but return to that wherein you lived a luxurious life, and to your homes, in order that you may be questioned.

[14] قالوا يٰوَيلَنا إِنّا كُنّا ظٰلِمينَ
[14] তারা বললঃ হায়, দুর্ভোগ আমাদের, আমরা অবশ্যই পাপী ছিলাম।
[14] They cried: “Woe to us! Certainly! We have been Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrong-doers and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh).”

[15] فَما زالَت تِلكَ دَعوىٰهُم حَتّىٰ جَعَلنٰهُم حَصيدًا خٰمِدينَ
[15] তাদের এই আর্তনাদ সব সময় ছিল, শেষ পর্যন্ত আমি তাদেরকে করে দিলাম যেন কর্তিত শস্য ও নির্বাপিত অগ্নি।
[15] And that cry of theirs ceased not, till We made them as a field that is reaped, extinct (dead).

[16] وَما خَلَقنَا السَّماءَ وَالأَرضَ وَما بَينَهُما لٰعِبينَ
[16] আকাশ পৃথিবী এতদুভয়ের মধ্যে যা আছে, তা আমি ক্রীড়াচ্ছলে সৃষ্টি করিনি।
[16] We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for a (mere) play.

[17] لَو أَرَدنا أَن نَتَّخِذَ لَهوًا لَاتَّخَذنٰهُ مِن لَدُنّا إِن كُنّا فٰعِلينَ
[17] আমি যদি ক্রীড়া উপকরণ সৃষ্টি করতে চাইতাম, তবে আমি আমার কাছে যা আছে তা দ্বারাই তা করতাম, যদি আমাকে করতে হত।
[17] Had We intended to take a pastime (i.e. a wife or a son), We could surely have taken it from Us, if We were going to do (that).

[18] بَل نَقذِفُ بِالحَقِّ عَلَى البٰطِلِ فَيَدمَغُهُ فَإِذا هُوَ زاهِقٌ ۚ وَلَكُمُ الوَيلُ مِمّا تَصِفونَ
[18] বরং আমি সত্যকে মিথ্যার উপর নিক্ষেপ করি, অতঃপর সত্য মিথ্যার মস্তক চুর্ণ-বিচূর্ণ করে দেয়, অতঃপর মিথ্যা তৎক্ষণাৎ নিশ্চিহ্ন হয়ে যায়। তোমরা যা বলছ, তার জন্যে তোমাদের দুর্ভোগ।
[18] Nay, We fling (send down) the truth (this Qur’ân) against the falsehood (disbelief), so it destroys it, and behold, it (falsehood) is vanished. And woe to you for that (lie) which you ascribe (to Allâh by uttering that Allâh has a wife and a son).

[19] وَلَهُ مَن فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضِ ۚ وَمَن عِندَهُ لا يَستَكبِرونَ عَن عِبادَتِهِ وَلا يَستَحسِرونَ
[19] নভোমন্ডল ও ভুমন্ডলে যারা আছে, তারা তাঁরই। আর যারা তাঁর সান্নিধ্যে আছে তারা তাঁর ইবাদতে অহংকার করে না এবং অলসতাও করে না।
[19] To Him belongs whosoever is in the heavens and on earth. And those who are near Him (i.e. the angels) are not too proud to worship Him, nor are they weary (of His worship).

[20] يُسَبِّحونَ الَّيلَ وَالنَّهارَ لا يَفتُرونَ
[20] তারা রাত্রিদিন তাঁর পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা বর্ণনা করে এবং ক্লান্ত হয় না।
[20] They (i.e. the angels) glorify His Praises night and day, (and) they never slacken (to do so)
