[87] قالوا ما أَخلَفنا مَوعِدَكَ بِمَلكِنا وَلٰكِنّا حُمِّلنا أَوزارًا مِن زينَةِ القَومِ فَقَذَفنٰها فَكَذٰلِكَ أَلقَى السّامِرِىُّ
[87] তারা বললঃ আমরা তোমার সাথে কৃত ওয়াদা স্বেচ্ছায় ভঙ্গ করিনি; কিন্তু আমাদের উপর ফেরউনীদের অলংকারের বোঝা চাপিয়ে দেয়া হয়েছিল। অতঃপর আমরা তা নিক্ষেপ করে দিয়েছি। এমনি ভাবে সামেরীও নিক্ষেপ করেছে।
[87] They said: “We broke not the promise to you, of our own will, but we were made to carry the weight of the ornaments of the [Fir’aun’s (Pharaoh)] people, then we cast them (into the fire), and that was what As-Samiri suggested.”
