بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু

[1] عَمَّ يَتَساءَلونَ
[1] তারা পরস্পরে কি বিষয়ে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করছে?
[1] What are they asking (one another about)?

[2] عَنِ النَّبَإِ العَظيمِ
[2] মহা সংবাদ সম্পর্কে,
[2] About the great news, (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism, the Qur’ân, which Prophet Muhammad (SAW) brought and the Day of Resurrection),

[3] الَّذى هُم فيهِ مُختَلِفونَ
[3] যে সম্পর্কে তারা মতানৈক্য করে।
[3] About which they are in disagreement.

[4] كَلّا سَيَعلَمونَ
[4] না, সত্ত্বরই তারা জানতে পারবে,
[4] Nay, they will come to know!

[5] ثُمَّ كَلّا سَيَعلَمونَ
[5] অতঃপর না, সত্বর তারা জানতে পারবে।
[5] Nay, again, they will come to know!

[6] أَلَم نَجعَلِ الأَرضَ مِهٰدًا
[6] আমি কি করিনি ভূমিকে বিছানা
[6] Have We not made the earth as a bed,

[7] وَالجِبالَ أَوتادًا
[7] এবং পর্বতমালাকে পেরেক?
[7] And the mountains as pegs?

[8] وَخَلَقنٰكُم أَزوٰجًا
[8] আমি তোমাদেরকে জোড়া জোড়া সৃষ্টি করেছি,
[8] And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.)

[9] وَجَعَلنا نَومَكُم سُباتًا
[9] তোমাদের নিদ্রাকে করেছি ক্লান্তি দূরকারী,
[9] And We have made your sleep as a thing for rest

[10] وَجَعَلنَا الَّيلَ لِباسًا
[10] রাত্রিকে করেছি আবরণ।
[10] And We have made the night as a covering (through its darkness),

[11] وَجَعَلنَا النَّهارَ مَعاشًا
[11] দিনকে করেছি জীবিকা অর্জনের সময়,
[11] And We have made the day for livelihood.

[12] وَبَنَينا فَوقَكُم سَبعًا شِدادًا
[12] নির্মান করেছি তোমাদের মাথার উপর মজবুত সপ্ত-আকাশ।
[12] And We have built above you seven strong (heavens),

[13] وَجَعَلنا سِراجًا وَهّاجًا
[13] এবং একটি উজ্জ্বল প্রদীপ সৃষ্টি করেছি।
[13] And We have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun).

[14] وَأَنزَلنا مِنَ المُعصِرٰتِ ماءً ثَجّاجًا
[14] আমি জলধর মেঘমালা থেকে প্রচুর বৃষ্টিপাত করি,
[14] And We have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water.

[15] لِنُخرِجَ بِهِ حَبًّا وَنَباتًا
[15] যাতে তদ্দ্বারা উৎপন্ন করি শস্য, উদ্ভিদ।
[15] That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations,

[16] وَجَنّٰتٍ أَلفافًا
[16] ও পাতাঘন উদ্যান।
[16] And gardens of thick growth.

[17] إِنَّ يَومَ الفَصلِ كانَ ميقٰتًا
[17] নিশ্চয় বিচার দিবস নির্ধারিত রয়েছে।
[17] Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time,

[18] يَومَ يُنفَخُ فِى الصّورِ فَتَأتونَ أَفواجًا
[18] যেদিন শিংগায় ফুঁক দেয়া হবে, তখন তোমরা দলে দলে সমাগত হবে।
[18] The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups after groups). (Tafsir At-Tabari)

[19] وَفُتِحَتِ السَّماءُ فَكانَت أَبوٰبًا
[19] আকাশ বিদীর্ণ হয়ে; তাতে বহু দরজা সৃষ্টি হবে।
[19] And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates,

[20] وَسُيِّرَتِ الجِبالُ فَكانَت سَرابًا
[20] এবং পর্বতমালা চালিত হয়ে মরীচিকা হয়ে যাবে।
[20] And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage.
