[21] أَموٰتٌ غَيرُ أَحياءٍ ۖ وَما يَشعُرونَ أَيّانَ يُبعَثونَ

[21] তারা মৃত-প্রাণহীন এবং কবে পুনরুত্থিত হবে, জানে না।

[21] (They are) dead, not alive, and they know not when they will be raised up.

[22] إِلٰهُكُم إِلٰهٌ وٰحِدٌ ۚ فَالَّذينَ لا يُؤمِنونَ بِالءاخِرَةِ قُلوبُهُم مُنكِرَةٌ وَهُم مُستَكبِرونَ

[22] আমাদের ইলাহ একক ইলাহ। অনন্তর যারা পরজীবনে বিশ্বাস করে না, তাদের অন্তর সত্যবিমুখ এবং তারা অহংকার প্রদর্শন করেছে।

[22] Your Ilâh (God) is One Ilâh (God — Allâh, none has the right to be worshipped but He). But for those who believe not in the Hereafter, their hearts deny (the faith in the Oneness of Allâh), and they are proud.

[23] لا جَرَمَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَعلَمُ ما يُسِرّونَ وَما يُعلِنونَ ۚ إِنَّهُ لا يُحِبُّ المُستَكبِرينَ

[23] নিঃসন্দেহে আল্লাহ তাদের গোপন ও প্রকাশ্য যাবতীয় বিষয়ে অবগত। নিশ্চিতই তিনি অহংকারীদের পছন্দ করেন না।

[23] Certainly, Allâh knows what they conceal and what they reveal. Truly, He likes not the proud.

[24] وَإِذا قيلَ لَهُم ماذا أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُم ۙ قالوا أَسٰطيرُ الأَوَّلينَ

[24] যখন তাদেরকে বলা হয়ঃ তোমাদের পালনকর্তা কি নাযিল করেছেন? তারা বলেঃ পূর্ববর্তীদের কিসসা-কাহিনী।

[24] And when it is said to them: “What is it that your Lord has sent down (unto Muhammad SAW)?” They say: “Tales of the men of old!”

[25] لِيَحمِلوا أَوزارَهُم كامِلَةً يَومَ القِيٰمَةِ ۙ وَمِن أَوزارِ الَّذينَ يُضِلّونَهُم بِغَيرِ عِلمٍ ۗ أَلا ساءَ ما يَزِرونَ

[25] ফলে কেয়ামতের দিন ওরা পূর্ণমাত্রায় বহন করবে ওদের পাপভার এবং পাপভার তাদেরও যাদেরকে তারা তাদের অজ্ঞতাহেতু বিপথগামী করে শুনে নাও, খুবই নিকৃষ্ট বোঝা যা তারা বহন করে।

[25] They may bear their own burdens in full on the Day of Resurrection, and also of the burdens of those whom they misled without knowledge. Evil indeed is that which they shall bear!

[26] قَد مَكَرَ الَّذينَ مِن قَبلِهِم فَأَتَى اللَّهُ بُنيٰنَهُم مِنَ القَواعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيهِمُ السَّقفُ مِن فَوقِهِم وَأَتىٰهُمُ العَذابُ مِن حَيثُ لا يَشعُرونَ

[26] নিশ্চয় চক্রান্ত করেছে তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরা, অতঃপর আল্লাহ তাদের চক্রান্তের ইমারতের ভিত্তিমূলে আঘাত করেছিলেন। এরপর উপর থেকে তাদের মাথায় ছাদ ধ্বসে পড়ে গেছে এবং তাদের উপর আযাব এসেছে যেখান থেকে তাদের ধারণা ছিল না।

[26] Those before them indeed plotted, but Allâh struck at the foundation of their building, and then the roof fell down upon them, from above them, and the torment overtook them from directions they did not perceive.

[27] ثُمَّ يَومَ القِيٰمَةِ يُخزيهِم وَيَقولُ أَينَ شُرَكاءِىَ الَّذينَ كُنتُم تُشٰقّونَ فيهِم ۚ قالَ الَّذينَ أوتُوا العِلمَ إِنَّ الخِزىَ اليَومَ وَالسّوءَ عَلَى الكٰفِرينَ

[27] অতঃপর কেয়ামতের দিন তিনি তাদেরকে লাঞ্ছিত করবেন এবং বলবেনঃ আমার অংশীদাররা কোথায়, যাদের ব্যাপারে তোমরা খুব হঠকারিতা করতে ? যারা জ্ঞানপ্রাপ্ত হয়েছিল তারা বলবেঃ নিশ্চয়ই আজকের দিনে লাঞ্ছনা ও দুর্গতি কাফেরদের জন্যে,

[27] Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will disgrace them and will say: “Where are My (so called) ‘partners’ concerning whom you used to disagree and dispute (with the believers, by defying and disobeying Allâh)?” Those who have been given the knowledge (about the Torment of Allâh for the disbelievers) will say: “Verily! Disgrace this Day and misery this Day are upon the disbelievers.

[28] الَّذينَ تَتَوَفّىٰهُمُ المَلٰئِكَةُ ظالِمى أَنفُسِهِم ۖ فَأَلقَوُا السَّلَمَ ما كُنّا نَعمَلُ مِن سوءٍ ۚ بَلىٰ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَليمٌ بِما كُنتُم تَعمَلونَ

[28] ফেরেশতারা তাদের জান এমতাঅবস্থায় কবজ করে যে, তারা নিজেদের উপর যুলুম করেছে। তখন তারা অনুগত্য প্রকাশ করবে যে, আমরা তো কোন মন্দ কাজ করতাম না। হঁ্যা নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ সববিষয় অবগত আছেন, যা তোমরা করতে।

[28] “Those whose lives the angels take while they are doing wrong to themselves (by disbelief and by associating partners in worship with Allâh and by committing all kinds of crimes and evil deeds).” Then, they will make (false) submission (saying): “We used not to do any evil.” (The angels will reply): “Yes! Truly, Allâh is All-Knower of what you used to do.

[29] فَادخُلوا أَبوٰبَ جَهَنَّمَ خٰلِدينَ فيها ۖ فَلَبِئسَ مَثوَى المُتَكَبِّرينَ

[29] অতএব, জাহান্নামের দরজসমূহে প্রবেশ কর, এতেই অনন্তকাল বাস কর। আর অহংকারীদের আবাসস্থল কতই নিকৃষ্ট।

[29] “So enter the gates of Hell, to abide therein, and indeed, what an evil abode will be for the arrogant.”

[30] ۞ وَقيلَ لِلَّذينَ اتَّقَوا ماذا أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُم ۚ قالوا خَيرًا ۗ لِلَّذينَ أَحسَنوا فى هٰذِهِ الدُّنيا حَسَنَةٌ ۚ وَلَدارُ الءاخِرَةِ خَيرٌ ۚ وَلَنِعمَ دارُ المُتَّقينَ

[30] পরহেযগারদেরকে বলা হয়ঃ তোমাদের পালনকর্তা কি নাযিল করেছেন? তারা বলেঃ মহাকল্যাণ। যারা এ জগতে সৎকাজ করে, তাদের জন্যে কল্যাণ রয়েছে এবং পরকালের গৃহ আরও উত্তম। পরহেযগারদের গৃহ কি চমৎকার?

[30] And (when) it is said to those who are the Muttaqûn (pious – see V.2:2) “What is it that your Lord has sent down?” They say: “That which is good.” For those who do good in this world, there is good, and the home of the Hereafter will be better. And excellent indeed will be the home (i.e. Paradise) of the Muttaqûn (pious – see V.2:2).

[31] جَنّٰتُ عَدنٍ يَدخُلونَها تَجرى مِن تَحتِهَا الأَنهٰرُ ۖ لَهُم فيها ما يَشاءونَ ۚ كَذٰلِكَ يَجزِى اللَّهُ المُتَّقينَ

[31] সর্বদা বসবাসের উদ্যান, তারা যাতে প্রবেশ করবে। এর পাদদেশে দিয়ে স্রোতস্বিনী প্রবাহিত হয় তাদের জন্যে তাতে তা-ই রয়েছে, যা তারা চায় এমনিভাবে প্রতিদান দেবেন আল্লাহর পরহেযগারদেরকে,

[31] ‘Adn (Eden) Paradise (Gardens of Eternity) which they will enter, under which rivers flow, they will have therein all that they wish. Thus Allâh rewards the Muttaqûn (pious – see V.2:2).

[32] الَّذينَ تَتَوَفّىٰهُمُ المَلٰئِكَةُ طَيِّبينَ ۙ يَقولونَ سَلٰمٌ عَلَيكُمُ ادخُلُوا الجَنَّةَ بِما كُنتُم تَعمَلونَ

[32] ফেরেশতা যাদের জান কবজ করেন তাদের পবিত্র থাকা অবস্থায়। ফেরেশতারা বলেঃ তোমাদের প্রতি শাস্তি বর্ষিত হোক। তোমরা যা করতে, তার প্রতিদানে জান্নাতে প্রবেশ কর।

[32] Those whose lives the angels take while they are in a pious state (i.e. pure from all evil, and worshipping none but Allâh Alone) saying (to them): Salâmun ‘Alaikum (peace be on you) enter you Paradise, because of that (the good) which you used to do (in the world).”

[33] هَل يَنظُرونَ إِلّا أَن تَأتِيَهُمُ المَلٰئِكَةُ أَو يَأتِىَ أَمرُ رَبِّكَ ۚ كَذٰلِكَ فَعَلَ الَّذينَ مِن قَبلِهِم ۚ وَما ظَلَمَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَلٰكِن كانوا أَنفُسَهُم يَظلِمونَ

[33] কাফেররা কি এখন অপেক্ষা করছে যে, তাদের কাছে ফেরেশতারা আসবে কিংবা আপনার পালনকর্তার নির্দেশ পৌছবে? তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরা এমনই করেছিল। আল্লাহ তাদের প্রতি অবিচার করেননি; কিন্তু তারা স্বয়ং নিজেদের প্রতি জুলুম করেছিল।

[33] Do they (the disbelievers and polytheists) await but that the angels should come to them [to take away their souls (at death)], or there should come the command (i.e. the torment or the Day of Resurrection) of your Lord? Thus did those before them. And Allâh wronged them not, but they used to wrong themselves.

[34] فَأَصابَهُم سَيِّـٔاتُ ما عَمِلوا وَحاقَ بِهِم ما كانوا بِهِ يَستَهزِءونَ

[34] সুতরাং তাদের মন্দ কাজের শাস্তি তাদেরই মাথায় আপতিত হয়েছে এবং তারা যে ঠাট্টা বিদ্রুপ করত, তাই উল্টে তাদের উপর পড়েছে।

[34] Then, the evil results of their deeds overtook them, and that at which they used to mock at surrounded them.

[35] وَقالَ الَّذينَ أَشرَكوا لَو شاءَ اللَّهُ ما عَبَدنا مِن دونِهِ مِن شَيءٍ نَحنُ وَلا ءاباؤُنا وَلا حَرَّمنا مِن دونِهِ مِن شَيءٍ ۚ كَذٰلِكَ فَعَلَ الَّذينَ مِن قَبلِهِم ۚ فَهَل عَلَى الرُّسُلِ إِلَّا البَلٰغُ المُبينُ

[35] মুশরিকরা বললঃ যদি আল্লাহ চাইতেন, তবে আমরা তাঁকে ছাড়া কারও এবাদত করতাম না এবং আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষেরাও করত না এবং তাঁর নির্দেশ ছাড়া কোন বস্তুই আমরা হারাম করতাম না। তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরা এমনই করেছে। রাসূলের দায়িত্ব তো শুধুমাত্র সুস্পষ্ট বাণী পৌছিয়ে দেয়া।

[35] And those who joined others in worship with Allâh say: “If Allâh had so willed, neither we nor our fathers would have worshipped aught but Him, nor would we have forbidden anything without (Command from) Him.” So did those before them. Then! Are the Messengers charged with anything but to convey clearly the Message?

[36] وَلَقَد بَعَثنا فى كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ رَسولًا أَنِ اعبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاجتَنِبُوا الطّٰغوتَ ۖ فَمِنهُم مَن هَدَى اللَّهُ وَمِنهُم مَن حَقَّت عَلَيهِ الضَّلٰلَةُ ۚ فَسيروا فِى الأَرضِ فَانظُروا كَيفَ كانَ عٰقِبَةُ المُكَذِّبينَ

[36] আমি প্রত্যেক উম্মতের মধ্যেই রাসূল প্রেরণ করেছি এই মর্মে যে, তোমরা আল্লাহর এবাদত কর এবং তাগুত থেকে নিরাপদ থাক। অতঃপর তাদের মধ্যে কিছু সংখ্যককে আল্লাহ হেদায়েত করেছেন এবং কিছু সংখ্যকের জন্যে বিপথগামিতা অবধারিত হয়ে গেল। সুতরাং তোমরা পৃথিবীতে ভ্রমণ কর এবং দেখ মিথ্যারোপকারীদের কিরূপ পরিণতি হয়েছে।

[36] And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): “Worship Allâh (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Tâghût (all false deities, etc. i.e. do not worship Tâghût besides Allâh).” Then of them were some whom Allâh guided and of them were some upon whom the straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what was the end of those who denied (the truth).

[37] إِن تَحرِص عَلىٰ هُدىٰهُم فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَهدى مَن يُضِلُّ ۖ وَما لَهُم مِن نٰصِرينَ

[37] আপনি তাদেরকে সুপথে আনতে আগ্রহী হলেও আল্লাহ যাকে বিপথগামী করেন তিনি তাকে পথ দেখান না এবং তাদের কোন সাহায্যকারী ও নেই।

[37] If you (O Muhammad SAW) covet for their guidance, then verily Allâh guides not those whom He makes to go astray (or none can guide him whom Allâh sends astray). And they will have no helpers.

[38] وَأَقسَموا بِاللَّهِ جَهدَ أَيمٰنِهِم ۙ لا يَبعَثُ اللَّهُ مَن يَموتُ ۚ بَلىٰ وَعدًا عَلَيهِ حَقًّا وَلٰكِنَّ أَكثَرَ النّاسِ لا يَعلَمونَ

[38] তারা আল্লাহর নামে কঠোর শপথ করে যে, যার মৃত্যু হয় আল্লাহ তাকে পুনরুজ্জীবিত করবেন না। অবশ্যই এর পাকাপোক্ত ওয়াদা হয়ে গেছে। কিন্তু, অধিকাংশ লোক জানে না।

[38] And they swear by Allâh their strongest oaths, that Allâh will not raise up him who dies. Yes, (He will raise them up), a promise (binding) upon Him in truth, but most of mankind know not.

[39] لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ الَّذى يَختَلِفونَ فيهِ وَلِيَعلَمَ الَّذينَ كَفَروا أَنَّهُم كانوا كٰذِبينَ

[39] তিনি পুনরুজ্জীবিত করবেনই, যাতে যে বিষয়ে তাদের মধ্যে মতানৈক্য ছিল তা প্রকাশ করা যায় এবং যাতে কাফেরেরা জেনে নেয় যে, তারা মিথ্যাবাদী ছিল।

[39] In order that He may make manifest to them the truth of that wherein they differ, and that those who disbelieved (in Resurrection, and in the Oneness of Allâh) may know that they were liars.

[40] إِنَّما قَولُنا لِشَيءٍ إِذا أَرَدنٰهُ أَن نَقولَ لَهُ كُن فَيَكونُ

[40] আমি যখন কোন কিছু করার ইচ্ছা করি; তখন তাকে কেবল এতটুকুই বলি যে, হয়ে যাও,। সুতরাং তা হয়ে যায়।

[40] Verily! Our Word unto a thing when We intend it, is only that We say unto it: “Be!” and it is.
