[15] وَوَصَّينَا الإِنسٰنَ بِوٰلِدَيهِ إِحسٰنًا ۖ حَمَلَتهُ أُمُّهُ كُرهًا وَوَضَعَتهُ كُرهًا ۖ وَحَملُهُ وَفِصٰلُهُ ثَلٰثونَ شَهرًا ۚ حَتّىٰ إِذا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ وَبَلَغَ أَربَعينَ سَنَةً قالَ رَبِّ أَوزِعنى أَن أَشكُرَ نِعمَتَكَ الَّتى أَنعَمتَ عَلَىَّ وَعَلىٰ وٰلِدَىَّ وَأَن أَعمَلَ صٰلِحًا تَرضىٰهُ وَأَصلِح لى فى ذُرِّيَّتى ۖ إِنّى تُبتُ إِلَيكَ وَإِنّى مِنَ المُسلِمينَ
[15] আমি মানুষকে তার পিতা-মাতার সাথে সদ্ব্যবহারের আদেশ দিয়েছি। তার জননী তাকে কষ্টসহকারে গর্ভে ধারণ করেছে এবং কষ্টসহকারে প্রসব করেছে। তাকে গর্ভে ধারণ করতে ও তার স্তন্য ছাড়তে লেগেছে ত্রিশ মাস। অবশেষে সে যখন শক্তি-সামর্থেøর বয়সে ও চল্লিশ বছরে পৌছেছে, তখন বলতে লাগল, হে আমার পালনকর্তা, আমাকে এরূপ ভাগ্য দান কর, যাতে আমি তোমার নেয়ামতের শোকর করি, যা তুমি দান করেছ আমাকে ও আমার পিতা-মাতাকে এবং যাতে আমি তোমার পছন্দনীয় সৎকাজ করি। আমার সন্তানদেরকে সৎকর্মপরায়ণ কর, আমি তোমার প্রতি তওবা করলাম এবং আমি আজ্ঞাবহদের অন্যতম।
[15] And We have enjoined on man to be dutiful and kind to his parents. His mother bears him with hardship And she brings him forth with hardship, and the bearing of him, and the weaning of him is thirty months, till when he attains full strength and reaches forty years, he says: “My Lord! Grant me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds, such as please You, and make my off-spring good. Truly, I have turned to You in repentance, and truly, I am one of the Muslims (submitting to Your Will).”

[16] أُولٰئِكَ الَّذينَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنهُم أَحسَنَ ما عَمِلوا وَنَتَجاوَزُ عَن سَيِّـٔاتِهِم فى أَصحٰبِ الجَنَّةِ ۖ وَعدَ الصِّدقِ الَّذى كانوا يوعَدونَ
[16] আমি এমন লোকদের সুকর্মগুলো কবুল করি এবং মন্দকর্মগুলো মার্জনা করি। তারা জান্নাতীদের তালিকাভুক্ত সেই সত্য ওয়াদার কারণে যা তাদেরকে দেওয়া হত।
[16] They are those from whom We shall accept the best of their deeds and overlook their evil deeds. (They shall be) among the dwellers of Paradise — a promise of truth, which they have been promised.

[17] وَالَّذى قالَ لِوٰلِدَيهِ أُفٍّ لَكُما أَتَعِدانِنى أَن أُخرَجَ وَقَد خَلَتِ القُرونُ مِن قَبلى وَهُما يَستَغيثانِ اللَّهَ وَيلَكَ ءامِن إِنَّ وَعدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ فَيَقولُ ما هٰذا إِلّا أَسٰطيرُ الأَوَّلينَ
[17] আর যে ব্যক্তি তার পিতা-মাতাকে বলে, ধিক তোমাদেরকে, তোমরা কি আমাকে খবর দাও যে, আমি পুনরুত্থিত হব, অথচ আমার পূর্বে বহু লোক গত হয়ে গেছে? আর পিতা-মাতা আল্লাহর কাছে ফরিযাদ করে বলে, দুর্ভোগ তোমার তুমি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন কর। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহর ওয়াদা সত্য। তখন সে বলে, এটা তো পূর্ববর্তীদের উপকথা বৈ নয়।
[17] But he who says to his parents: “Fie upon you both! Do you hold out the promise to me that I shall be raised up (again) when generations before me have passed away (without rising)?” While they (father and mother) invoke Allâh for help (and rebuke their son): “Woe to you! Believe! Verily, the Promise of Allâh is true.” But he says: “This is nothing but the tales of the ancient.”

[18] أُولٰئِكَ الَّذينَ حَقَّ عَلَيهِمُ القَولُ فى أُمَمٍ قَد خَلَت مِن قَبلِهِم مِنَ الجِنِّ وَالإِنسِ ۖ إِنَّهُم كانوا خٰسِرينَ
[18] তাদের পূর্বে যে সব জ্বিন ও মানুষ গত হয়েছে, তাদের মধ্যে এ ধরনের লোকদের প্রতিও শাস্তিবানী অবধারিত হয়ে গেছে। নিশ্চয় তারা ছিল ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ।
[18] They are those against whom the Word (of torment) is justified among the previous generations of jinn and mankind that have passed away. Verily, they are ever the losers

[19] وَلِكُلٍّ دَرَجٰتٌ مِمّا عَمِلوا ۖ وَلِيُوَفِّيَهُم أَعمٰلَهُم وَهُم لا يُظلَمونَ
[19] প্রত্যেকের জন্যে তাদের কৃতকর্ম অনুযায়ী বিভিন্ন স্তর রয়েছে, যাতে আল্লাহ তাদের কর্মের পূর্ণ প্রতিফল দেন। বস্তুতঃ তাদের প্রতি যুলুম করা হবে না।
[19] And for all, there will be degrees according to that which they did, that He (Allâh) may recompense them in full for their deeds. And they will not be wronged.

[20] وَيَومَ يُعرَضُ الَّذينَ كَفَروا عَلَى النّارِ أَذهَبتُم طَيِّبٰتِكُم فى حَياتِكُمُ الدُّنيا وَاستَمتَعتُم بِها فَاليَومَ تُجزَونَ عَذابَ الهونِ بِما كُنتُم تَستَكبِرونَ فِى الأَرضِ بِغَيرِ الحَقِّ وَبِما كُنتُم تَفسُقونَ
[20] যেদিন কাফেরদেরকে জাহান্নামের কাছে উপস্থিত করা হবে সেদিন বলা হবে, তোমরা তোমাদের সুখ পার্থিব জীবনেই নিঃশেষ করেছ এবং সেগুলো ভোগ করেছ সুতরাং আজ তোমাদেরকে অপমানকর আযাবের শাস্তি দেয়া হবে; কারণ, তোমরা পৃথিবীতে অন্যায় ভাবে অহংকার করতে এবং তোমরা পাপাচার করতে।
[20] On the Day when those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allâh Islâmic Monotheism) will be exposed to the Fire (it will be said): “You received your good things in the life of the world, and you took your pleasure therein. Now this Day you shall be recompensed with a torment of humiliation, because you were arrogant in the land without a right, and because you used to rebel against Allah’s Command (disobey Allâh).

[21] ۞ وَاذكُر أَخا عادٍ إِذ أَنذَرَ قَومَهُ بِالأَحقافِ وَقَد خَلَتِ النُّذُرُ مِن بَينِ يَدَيهِ وَمِن خَلفِهِ أَلّا تَعبُدوا إِلَّا اللَّهَ إِنّى أَخافُ عَلَيكُم عَذابَ يَومٍ عَظيمٍ
[21] আ’দ সম্প্রদায়ের ভাইয়ের কথা স্মরণ করুন, তার পূর্বে ও পরে অনেক সতর্ককারী গত হয়েছিল সে তার সম্প্রদায়কে বালুকাময় উচ্চ উপত্যকায় এ মর্মে সতর্ক করেছিল যে, তোমরা আল্লাহ ব্যতীত কারও এবাদত করো না। আমি তোমাদের জন্যে এক মহাদিবসের শাস্তির আশংকা করি।
[21] And remember (Hûd) the brother of ‘Ad, when he warned his people in Al-Ahqâf (the curved sand-hills in the southern part of Arabian Peninsula). And surely, there have passed away warners before him and after him (saying): “Worship none but Allâh; truly, I fear for you the torment of a mighty Day.” (i.e. the Day of Resurrection).”

[22] قالوا أَجِئتَنا لِتَأفِكَنا عَن ءالِهَتِنا فَأتِنا بِما تَعِدُنا إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقينَ
[22] তারা বলল, তুমি কি আমাদেরকে আমাদের উপাস্য দেব-দেবী থেকে নিবৃত্ত করতে আগমন করেছ? তুমি সত্যবাদী হলে আমাদেরকে যে বিষয়ের ওয়াদা দাও, তা নিয়ে আস।
[22] They said: “Have you come to turn us away from our âlihah (gods)? Then bring us that with which you threaten us, if you are one of the truthful!”

[23] قالَ إِنَّمَا العِلمُ عِندَ اللَّهِ وَأُبَلِّغُكُم ما أُرسِلتُ بِهِ وَلٰكِنّى أَرىٰكُم قَومًا تَجهَلونَ
[23] সে বলল, এ জ্ঞান তো আল্লাহর কাছেই রয়েছে। আমি যে বিষয়সহ প্রেরিত হয়েছি, তা তোমাদের কাছে পৌঁছাই। কিন্তু আমি দেখছি তোমরা এক মুর্খ সম্প্রদায়।
[23] He said: “The knowledge (of the time of its coming) is with Allâh only, And I convey to you that wherewith I have been sent, but I see that you are a people given to ignorance!”

[24] فَلَمّا رَأَوهُ عارِضًا مُستَقبِلَ أَودِيَتِهِم قالوا هٰذا عارِضٌ مُمطِرُنا ۚ بَل هُوَ مَا استَعجَلتُم بِهِ ۖ ريحٌ فيها عَذابٌ أَليمٌ
[24] (অতঃপর) তারা যখন শাস্তিকে মেঘরূপে তাদের উপত্যকা অভিমুখী দেখল, তখন বলল, এ তো মেঘ, আমাদেরকে বৃষ্টি দেবে। বরং এটা সেই বস্তু, যা তোমরা তাড়াতাড়ি চেয়েছিলে। এটা বায়ু এতে রয়েছে মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি।
[24] Then, when they saw it as a dense cloud coming towards their valleys, they said: “This is a cloud bringing us rain!” Nay, but it is that (torment) which you were asking to be hastened — a wind wherein is a painful torment!

[25] تُدَمِّرُ كُلَّ شَيءٍ بِأَمرِ رَبِّها فَأَصبَحوا لا يُرىٰ إِلّا مَسٰكِنُهُم ۚ كَذٰلِكَ نَجزِى القَومَ المُجرِمينَ
[25] তার পালনকর্তার আদেশে সে সব কিছুকে ধ্বংস করে দেবে। অতঃপর তারা ভোর বেলায় এমন হয়ে গেল যে, তাদের বসতিগুলো ছাড়া কিছুই দৃষ্টিগোচর হল না। আমি অপরাধী সম্প্রদায়কে এমনিভাবে শাস্তি দিয়ে থাকি।
[25] Destroying everything by the Command of its Lord! So they became such that nothing could be seen except their dwellings! Thus do We recompense the people who are Mujrimûn (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners)!

[26] وَلَقَد مَكَّنّٰهُم فيما إِن مَكَّنّٰكُم فيهِ وَجَعَلنا لَهُم سَمعًا وَأَبصٰرًا وَأَفـِٔدَةً فَما أَغنىٰ عَنهُم سَمعُهُم وَلا أَبصٰرُهُم وَلا أَفـِٔدَتُهُم مِن شَيءٍ إِذ كانوا يَجحَدونَ بِـٔايٰتِ اللَّهِ وَحاقَ بِهِم ما كانوا بِهِ يَستَهزِءونَ
[26] আমি তাদেরকে এমন বিষয়ে ক্ষমতা দিয়েছিলাম, যে বিষয়ে তোমাদেরকে ক্ষমতা দেইনি। আমি তাদের দিয়েছিলাম, কর্ণ, চক্ষু ও হৃদয়, কিন্তু তাদের কর্ণ, চক্ষু ও হৃদয় তাদের কোন কাজে আসল না, যখন তারা আল্লাহর আয়াতসমূহকে অস্বীকার করল এবং তাদেরকে সেই শাস্তি গ্রাস করে নিল, যা নিয়ে তারা ঠাট্টা বিদ্রুপ করত।
[26] And indeed We had firmly established them with that wherewith We have not established you (O Quraish)! And We had assigned them the (faculties of) hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and hearts, but their hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and their hearts availed them nothing since they used to deny the Ayât (Allâh’s Prophets and their Prophethood, proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations) of Allâh, and they were completely encircled by that which they used to mock at!

[27] وَلَقَد أَهلَكنا ما حَولَكُم مِنَ القُرىٰ وَصَرَّفنَا الءايٰتِ لَعَلَّهُم يَرجِعونَ
[27] আমি তোমাদের আশপাশের জনপদ সমূহ ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছি এবং বার বার আয়াতসমূহ শুনিয়েছি, যাতে তারা ফিরে আসে।
[27] And indeed We have destroyed towns (populations) round about you, and We have (repeatedly) shown (them) the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in various ways that they might return (to the truth and believe in the Oneness of Allâh — Islâmic Monotheism).

[28] فَلَولا نَصَرَهُمُ الَّذينَ اتَّخَذوا مِن دونِ اللَّهِ قُربانًا ءالِهَةً ۖ بَل ضَلّوا عَنهُم ۚ وَذٰلِكَ إِفكُهُم وَما كانوا يَفتَرونَ
[28] অতঃপর আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে তারা যাদেরকে সান্নিধ্য লাভের জন্যে উপাস্যরূপে গ্রহণ করেছিল, তারা তাদেরকে সাহায্য করল না কেন? বরং তারা তাদের কাছ থেকে উধাও হয়ে গেল। এটা ছিল তাদের মিথ্যা ও মনগড়া বিষয়।
[28] Then why did those whom they had taken for âlihah (gods) besides Allâh, as a way of approach (to Allâh) not help them? Nay, but they vanished completely from them (when there came the torment). And that was their lie, and their inventions which they had been inventing (before their destruction).

[29] وَإِذ صَرَفنا إِلَيكَ نَفَرًا مِنَ الجِنِّ يَستَمِعونَ القُرءانَ فَلَمّا حَضَروهُ قالوا أَنصِتوا ۖ فَلَمّا قُضِىَ وَلَّوا إِلىٰ قَومِهِم مُنذِرينَ
[29] যখন আমি একদল জিনকে আপনার প্রতি আকৃষ্ট করেছিলাম, তারা কোরআন পাঠ শুনছিল,। তারা যখন কোরআন পাঠের জায়গায় উপস্থিত হল, তখন পরস্পর বলল, চুপ থাক। অতঃপর যখন পাঠ সমাপ্ত হল, তখন তারা তাদের সম্প্রদায়ের কাছে সতর্ককারীরূপে ফিরে গেল।
[29] And (remember) when We sent towards you (Muhammad SAW) a group (three to ten persons) of the jinn, (quietly) listening to the Qur’ân, when they stood in the presence thereof, they said: “Listen in silence!” And when it was finished, they returned to their people, as warners.

[30] قالوا يٰقَومَنا إِنّا سَمِعنا كِتٰبًا أُنزِلَ مِن بَعدِ موسىٰ مُصَدِّقًا لِما بَينَ يَدَيهِ يَهدى إِلَى الحَقِّ وَإِلىٰ طَريقٍ مُستَقيمٍ
[30] তারা বলল, হে আমাদের সম্প্রদায়, আমরা এমন এক কিতাব শুনেছি, যা মূসার পর অবর্তীণ হয়েছে। এ কিতাব পূর্ববর্তী সব কিতাবের প্রত্যায়ন করে, সত্যধর্ম ও সরলপথের দিকে পরিচালিত করে।
[30] They said: “O our people! Verily! We have heard a Book (this Qur’ân) sent down after Mûsa (Moses), confirming what came before it, it guides to the truth and to a Straight Path (i.e. Islâm).

[31] يٰقَومَنا أَجيبوا داعِىَ اللَّهِ وَءامِنوا بِهِ يَغفِر لَكُم مِن ذُنوبِكُم وَيُجِركُم مِن عَذابٍ أَليمٍ
[31] হে আমাদের সম্প্রদায়, তোমরা আল্লাহর দিকে আহবানকারীর কথা মান্য কর এবং তাঁর প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন কর। তিনি তোমাদের গোনাহ মার্জনা করবেন।
[31] O our people! Respond (with obedience) to Allâh’s Caller (i.e. Allâh’s Messenger Muhammad SAW), and believe in him (i.e. believe in that which Muhammad SAW has brought from Allâh and follow him). He (Allâh) will forgive you of your sins, and will save you from a painful torment (i.e. Hell-fire).

[32] وَمَن لا يُجِب داعِىَ اللَّهِ فَلَيسَ بِمُعجِزٍ فِى الأَرضِ وَلَيسَ لَهُ مِن دونِهِ أَولِياءُ ۚ أُولٰئِكَ فى ضَلٰلٍ مُبينٍ
[32] আর যে ব্যক্তি আল্লাহর দিকে আহবানকারীর কথা মানবে না, সে পৃথিবীতে আল্লাহকে অপারক করতে পারবে না এবং আল্লাহ ব্যতীত তার কোন সাহায্যকারী থাকবে না। এ ধরনের লোকই প্রকাশ্য পথভ্রষ্টতায় লিপ্ত।
[32] And whosoever does not respond to Allâh’s Caller, he cannot escape on earth, and there will be no Auliyâ’ (lord, helpers, supporters, protectors) for him besides Allâh (from Allâh’s Punishment). Those are in manifest error.

[33] أَوَلَم يَرَوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ الَّذى خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضَ وَلَم يَعىَ بِخَلقِهِنَّ بِقٰدِرٍ عَلىٰ أَن يُحۦِىَ المَوتىٰ ۚ بَلىٰ إِنَّهُ عَلىٰ كُلِّ شَيءٍ قَديرٌ
[33] তারা কি জানে না যে, আল্লাহ যিনি নভোমন্ডল ও ভূমন্ডল সৃষ্টি করেছেন এবং এগুলোর সৃষ্টিতে কোন ক্লান্তিবোধ করেননি, তিনি মৃতকে জীবিত করতে সক্ষম? কেন নয়, নিশ্চয় তিনি সর্ব বিষয়ে সর্বশক্তিমান।
[33] Do they not see that Allâh, Who created the heavens and the earth, and was not wearied by their creation, is Able to give life to the dead? Yes, He surely is Able to do all things.

[34] وَيَومَ يُعرَضُ الَّذينَ كَفَروا عَلَى النّارِ أَلَيسَ هٰذا بِالحَقِّ ۖ قالوا بَلىٰ وَرَبِّنا ۚ قالَ فَذوقُوا العَذابَ بِما كُنتُم تَكفُرونَ
[34] যেদিন কাফেরদেরকে জাহান্নামের সামনে পেশ করা হবে, সেদিন বলা হবে, এটা কি সত্য নয়? তারা বলবে, হঁ্যা আমাদের পালনকর্তার শপথ। আল্লাহ বলবেন, আযাব আস্বাদন কর। কারণ, তোমরা কুফরী করতে।
[34] And on the Day when those who disbelieve will be exposed to the Fire (it will be said to them): “Is this not the truth?” They will say: “Yes, By our Lord!” He will say: “Then taste the torment, because you used to disbelieve!”
