[32] وَإِذا قيلَ إِنَّ وَعدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَالسّاعَةُ لا رَيبَ فيها قُلتُم ما نَدرى مَا السّاعَةُ إِن نَظُنُّ إِلّا ظَنًّا وَما نَحنُ بِمُستَيقِنينَ
[32] যখন বলা হত, আল্লাহর ওয়াদা সত্য এবং কেয়ামতে কোন সন্দেহ নেই, তখন তোমরা বলতে আমরা জানি না কেয়ামত কি ? আমরা কেবল ধারণাই করি এবং এ বিষয়ে আমরা নিশ্চিত নই।
[32] And when it was said: “Verily! Allâh’s Promise is the truth, and there is no doubt about the coming of the Hour,” you said;”We know not what is the Hour, we do not think it but as a conjecture, and we have no firm convincing belief (therein).”

[33] وَبَدا لَهُم سَيِّـٔاتُ ما عَمِلوا وَحاقَ بِهِم ما كانوا بِهِ يَستَهزِءونَ
[33] তাদের মন্দ কর্ম গুলো তাদের সামনে প্রকাশ হয়ে পড়বে এবং যে আযাব নিয়ে তারা ঠাট্টা-বিদ্রুপ করত, তা তাদেরকে গ্রাস করবে।
[33] And the evil of what they did will appear to them, and that which they used to mock at will completely encircle them.

[34] وَقيلَ اليَومَ نَنسىٰكُم كَما نَسيتُم لِقاءَ يَومِكُم هٰذا وَمَأوىٰكُمُ النّارُ وَما لَكُم مِن نٰصِرينَ
[34] বলা হবে, আজ আমি তোমাদেরকে ভুলে যাব, যেমন তোমরা এ দিনের সাক্ষাৎকে ভুলে গিয়েছিলে। তোমাদের আবাসস্থল জাহান্নাম এবং তোমাদের সাহায্যকারী নেই।
[34] And it will be said: “This Day We will forget you as you forgot the Meeting of this Day of yours. And your abode is the Fire, and there is none to help you.”

[35] ذٰلِكُم بِأَنَّكُمُ اتَّخَذتُم ءايٰتِ اللَّهِ هُزُوًا وَغَرَّتكُمُ الحَيوٰةُ الدُّنيا ۚ فَاليَومَ لا يُخرَجونَ مِنها وَلا هُم يُستَعتَبونَ
[35] এটা এজন্যে যে, তোমরা আল্লাহর আয়াতসমূহকে ঠাট্টারূপে গ্রহণ করেছিলে এবং পার্থিব জীবন তোমাদেরকে প্রতারিত করেছিল। সুতরাং আজ তাদেরকে জাহান্নাম থেকে বের করা হবে না এবং তাদের কাছে তওবা চাওয়া হবে না।
[35] This, because you took the revelations of Allâh (this Qur’ân) in mockery, and the life of the world deceived you. So this Day, they shall not be taken out from there (Hell), nor shall they be returned to the worldly life, (so that they repent to Allâh, and beg His Pardon for their sins).

[36] فَلِلَّهِ الحَمدُ رَبِّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَرَبِّ الأَرضِ رَبِّ العٰلَمينَ
[36] অতএব, বিশ্বজগতের পালনকর্তা, ভূ-মন্ডলের পালনকর্তা ও নভোমন্ডলের পালনকর্তা আল্লাহর-ই প্রশংসা।
[36] So all the praises and thanks be to Allâh, the Lord of the heavens and the Lord of the earth, and the Lord of the ‘Alamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists).

[37] وَلَهُ الكِبرِياءُ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضِ ۖ وَهُوَ العَزيزُ الحَكيمُ
[37] নভোমন্ডলে ও ভূ-মন্ডলে তাঁরই গৌরব। তিনি পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
[37] And His (Alone) is the Majesty in the heavens and the earth, and He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু

[1] حم
[1] হা-মীম।
[1] Hâ¬Mîm [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur’ân, and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings].

[2] تَنزيلُ الكِتٰبِ مِنَ اللَّهِ العَزيزِ الحَكيمِ
[2] এই কিতাব পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময় আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে অবতীর্ণ।
[2] The revelation of the Book (this Qur’ân) is from Allâh, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

[3] ما خَلَقنَا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضَ وَما بَينَهُما إِلّا بِالحَقِّ وَأَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى ۚ وَالَّذينَ كَفَروا عَمّا أُنذِروا مُعرِضونَ
[3] নভোমন্ডল, ভূ-মন্ডল ও এতদুভয়ের মধ্যবর্তী সবকিছু আমি যথাযথভাবেই এবং নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের জন্যেই সৃষ্টি করেছি। আর কাফেররা যে বিষয়ে তাদেরকে সতর্ক করা হয়েছে, তা থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয়।
[3] We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and for an appointed term. But those who disbelieve turn away from that whereof they are warned.

عِلمٍ إِن كُنتُم صٰدِقينَ
[4] বলুন, তোমরা আল্লাহ ব্যতীত যাদের পূজা কর, তাদের বিষয়ে ভেবে দেখেছ কি? দেখাও আমাকে তারা পৃথিবীতে কি সৃষ্টি করেছে? অথবা নভোমন্ডল সৃজনে তাদের কি কোন অংশ আছে? এর পূর্ববর্তী কোন কিতাব অথবা পরস্পরাগত কোন জ্ঞান আমার কাছে উপস্থিত কর, যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হও।
[4] Say (O Muhammad SAW to these pagans): “Think you about all that you invoke besides Allâh? Show me. What have they created of the earth? Or have they a share in (the creation of) the heavens? Bring me a Book (revealed before this), or some trace of knowledge (in support of your claims), if you are truthful!”

[5] وَمَن أَضَلُّ مِمَّن يَدعوا مِن دونِ اللَّهِ مَن لا يَستَجيبُ لَهُ إِلىٰ يَومِ القِيٰمَةِ وَهُم عَن دُعائِهِم غٰفِلونَ
[5] যে ব্যক্তি আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে এমন বস্তুর পূজা করে, যে কেয়ামত পর্যন্তও তার ডাকে সাড়া দেবে না, তার চেয়ে অধিক পথভ্রষ্ট আর কে? তারা তো তাদের পুজা সম্পর্কেও বেখবর।
[5] And who is more astray than one who calls on (invokes) besides Allâh, such as will not answer him till the Day of Resurrection, and who are (even) unaware of their calls (invocations) to them?

[6] وَإِذا حُشِرَ النّاسُ كانوا لَهُم أَعداءً وَكانوا بِعِبادَتِهِم كٰفِرينَ
[6] যখন মানুষকে হাশরে একত্রিত করা হবে, তখন তারা তাদের শত্রু হবে এবং তাদের এবাদত অস্বীকার করবে।
[6] And when mankind are gathered (on the Day of Resurrection), they (false deities) will become their enemies and will deny their worshipping.

[7] وَإِذا تُتلىٰ عَلَيهِم ءايٰتُنا بَيِّنٰتٍ قالَ الَّذينَ كَفَروا لِلحَقِّ لَمّا جاءَهُم هٰذا سِحرٌ مُبينٌ
[7] যখন তাদেরকে আমার সুস্পষ্ট আয়াতসমূহ পাঠ করে শুনানো হয়, তখন সত্য আগমন করার পর কাফেররা বলে, এ তো প্রকাশ্য জাদু।
[7] And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, the disbelievers say of the truth (this Qur’ân), when it reaches them: “This is plain magic!”

[8] أَم يَقولونَ افتَرىٰهُ ۖ قُل إِنِ افتَرَيتُهُ فَلا تَملِكونَ لى مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيـًٔا ۖ هُوَ أَعلَمُ بِما تُفيضونَ فيهِ ۖ كَفىٰ بِهِ شَهيدًا بَينى وَبَينَكُم ۖ وَهُوَ الغَفورُ الرَّحيمُ
[8] তারা কি বলে যে, রসূল একে রচনা করেছে? বলুন, যদি আমি রচনা করে থাকি, তবে তোমরা আল্লাহর শাস্তি থেকে আমাকে রক্ষা করার অধিকারী নও। তোমরা এ সম্পর্কে যা আলোচনা কর, সে বিষয়ে আল্লাহ সম্যক অবগত। আমার ও তোমাদের মধ্যে তিনি সাক্ষী হিসাবে যথেষ্ট। তিনি ক্ষমাশীল, দয়াময়।
[8] Or say they: “He (Muhammad SAW) has fabricated it.” Say: “If I have fabricated it? still you have no power to support me against Allâh. He knows best of what you say among yourselves concerning it (i.e. this Qur’ân)! Sufficient is He as a witness between me and you! And He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.”

[9] قُل ما كُنتُ بِدعًا مِنَ الرُّسُلِ وَما أَدرى ما يُفعَلُ بى وَلا بِكُم ۖ إِن أَتَّبِعُ إِلّا ما يوحىٰ إِلَىَّ وَما أَنا۠ إِلّا نَذيرٌ مُبينٌ
[9] বলুন, আমি তো কোন নতুন রসূল নই। আমি জানি না, আমার ও তোমাদের সাথে কি ব্যবহার করা হবে। আমি কেবল তারই অনুসরণ করি, যা আমার প্রতি ওহী করা হয়। আমি স্পষ্ট সতর্ক কারী বৈ নই।
[9] Say (O Muhammad SAW):”I am not a new thing among the Messengers (of Allâh) (i.e. I am not the first Messenger) nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am but a plain warner.”

[10] قُل أَرَءَيتُم إِن كانَ مِن عِندِ اللَّهِ وَكَفَرتُم بِهِ وَشَهِدَ شاهِدٌ مِن بَنى إِسرٰءيلَ عَلىٰ مِثلِهِ فَـٔامَنَ وَاستَكبَرتُم ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَهدِى القَومَ الظّٰلِمينَ
[10] বলুন, তোমরা ভেবে দেখেছ কি, যদি এটা আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে হয় এবং তোমরা একে অমান্য কর এবং বনী ইসরাঈলের একজন সাক্ষী এর পক্ষে সাক্ষ্য দিয়ে এতে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে; আর তোমরা অহংকার কর, তবে তোমাদের চেয়ে অবিবেচক আর কে হবে? নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ অবিবেচকদেরকে পথ দেখান না।
[10] Say: “Tell me! If this (Qur’ân) is from Allâh and you deny it, and a witness from among the Children of Israel (‘Abdullâh bin Salâm radhiallahu’anhu) testifies that [this Qur’ân is from Allâh (like the Taurât (Torah)], and he believed (embraced Islâm)[1] while you are too proud (to believe).” Verily, Allâh guides not the people who are Zâlimûn (polytheists, disbelievers and wrong-doers).

[11] وَقالَ الَّذينَ كَفَروا لِلَّذينَ ءامَنوا لَو كانَ خَيرًا ما سَبَقونا إِلَيهِ ۚ وَإِذ لَم يَهتَدوا بِهِ فَسَيَقولونَ هٰذا إِفكٌ قَديمٌ
[11] আর কাফেররা মুমিনদের বলতে লাগল যে, যদি এ দ্বীন ভাল হত তবে এরা আমাদেরকে পেছনে ফেলে এগিয়ে যেতে পারত না। তারা যখন এর মাধ্যমে সুপথ পায়নি, তখন শীঘ্রই বলবে, এ তো এক পুরাতন মিথ্যা।
[11] And those who disbelieve (strong and wealthy) say of those who believe (the weak and poor): “Had it (Islâmic Monotheism to which Muhammad SAW is inviting mankind) been a good thing, they (the weak and poor) would not have preceded us thereto!” And when they have not let themselves be guided by it (this Qur’ân), they say: “This is an ancient lie!”

[12] وَمِن قَبلِهِ كِتٰبُ موسىٰ إِمامًا وَرَحمَةً ۚ وَهٰذا كِتٰبٌ مُصَدِّقٌ لِسانًا عَرَبِيًّا لِيُنذِرَ الَّذينَ ظَلَموا وَبُشرىٰ لِلمُحسِنينَ
[12] এর আগে মূসার কিতাব ছিল পথপ্রদর্শক ও রহমতস্বরূপ। আর এই কিতাব তার সমর্থক আরবী ভাষায়, যাতে যালেমদেরকে সতর্ক করে এবং সৎকর্মপরায়ণদেরকে সুসংবাদ দেয়।
[12] And before this was the Scripture of Mûsâ (Moses) as a guide and a mercy. And this is a confirming Book (the Qur’ân) in the Arabic language, to warn those who do wrong, and as glad tidings to the Muhsinûn (good-doers. See the footnote of V.9:120).

[13] إِنَّ الَّذينَ قالوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ استَقٰموا فَلا خَوفٌ عَلَيهِم وَلا هُم يَحزَنونَ
[13] নিশ্চয় যারা বলে, আমাদের পালনকর্তা আল্লাহ অতঃপর অবিচল থাকে, তাদের কোন ভয় নেই এবং তারা চিন্তিত হবে না।
[13] Verily, those who say: “Our Lord is (only) Allâh,” and thereafter stand firm (on the Islâmic Faith of Monotheism) on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

[14] أُولٰئِكَ أَصحٰبُ الجَنَّةِ خٰلِدينَ فيها جَزاءً بِما كانوا يَعمَلونَ
[14] তারাই জান্নাতের অধিকারী! তারা তথায় চিরকাল থাকবে। তারা যে কর্ম করত, এটা তারই প্রতিফল।
[14] Such shall be the dwellers of Paradise, abiding therein (forever) — a reward for what they used to do.
