[37] وَما كانَ هٰذَا القُرءانُ أَن يُفتَرىٰ مِن دونِ اللَّهِ وَلٰكِن تَصديقَ الَّذى بَينَ يَدَيهِ وَتَفصيلَ الكِتٰبِ لا رَيبَ فيهِ مِن رَبِّ العٰلَمينَ

[37] আর কোরআন সে জিনিস নয় যে, আল্লাহ ব্যতীত কেউ তা বানিয়ে নেবে। অবশ্য এটি পূর্ববর্তী কালামের সত্যায়ন করে এবং সে সমস্ত বিষয়ের বিশ্লেষণ দান করে যা তোমার প্রতি দেয়া হয়েছে, যাতে কোন সন্দেহ নেই-তোমার বিশ্বপালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে।

[37] And this Qur’ân is not such as could ever be produced by other than Allâh (Lord of the heavens and the earth), but it is a confirmation of (the revelation) which was before it [i.e. the Taurât (Torah), and the Injeel (Gospel)], and a full explanation of the Book (i.e. laws decreed for mankind) – wherein there is no doubt from the the Lord of the ‘Alamîn (mankind, jinn,and all that exists).

[38] أَم يَقولونَ افتَرىٰهُ ۖ قُل فَأتوا بِسورَةٍ مِثلِهِ وَادعوا مَنِ استَطَعتُم مِن دونِ اللَّهِ إِن كُنتُم صٰدِقينَ

[38] মানুষ কি বলে যে, এটি বানিয়ে এনেছ? বলে দাও, তোমরা নিয়ে এসো একটিই সূরা, আর ডেকে নাও, যাদেরকে নিতে সক্ষম হও আল্লাহ ব্যতীত, যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হয়ে থাক।

[38] Or do they say: “He (Muhammad SAW) has forged it?” Say: “Bring then a Sûrah (chapter) like unto it, and call upon whomsoever you can, besides Allâh, if you are truthful!”

[39] بَل كَذَّبوا بِما لَم يُحيطوا بِعِلمِهِ وَلَمّا يَأتِهِم تَأويلُهُ ۚ كَذٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ الَّذينَ مِن قَبلِهِم ۖ فَانظُر كَيفَ كانَ عٰقِبَةُ الظّٰلِمينَ

[39] কিন্তু কথা হল এই যে, তারা মিথ্যা প্রতিপন্ন করতে আরম্ভ করেছে যাকে বুঝতে, তারা অক্ষম। অথচ এখনো এর বিশ্লেষণ আসেনি। এমনিভাবে মিথ্যা প্রতিপন্ন করেছে তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরা। অতএব, লক্ষ্য করে দেখ, কেমন হয়েছে পরিণতি।

[39] Nay, they have belied; the knowledge whereof they could not comprehend and what has not yet been fulfilled (i.e. their punishment). Thus those before them did belie. Then see what was the end of the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers)!

[40] وَمِنهُم مَن يُؤمِنُ بِهِ وَمِنهُم مَن لا يُؤمِنُ بِهِ ۚ وَرَبُّكَ أَعلَمُ بِالمُفسِدينَ

[40] আর তাদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ কোরআনকে বিশ্বাস করবে এবং কেউ কেউ বিশ্বাস করবে না। বস্তুতঃ তোমার পরওয়ারদেগার যথার্থই জানেন দুরাচারদিগকে।

[40] And of them there are some who believe therein, and of them there are some who believe not therein, and your Lord is All-Aware of the Mufsidûn (evil-doers, liars).

[41] وَإِن كَذَّبوكَ فَقُل لى عَمَلى وَلَكُم عَمَلُكُم ۖ أَنتُم بَريـٔونَ مِمّا أَعمَلُ وَأَنا۠ بَريءٌ مِمّا تَعمَلونَ

[41] আর যদি তোমাকে মিথ্যা প্রতিপন্ন করে, তবে বল, আমার জন্য আমার কর্ম, আর তোমাদের জন্য তোমাদের কর্ম। তোমাদের দায়-দায়িত্ব নেই আমার কর্মের উপর এবং আমারও দায়-দায়িত্ব নেই তোমরা যা কর সেজন্য।

[41] And if they belie you, say: “For me are my deeds and for you are your deeds! You are innocent of what I do, and I am innocent of what you do!”

[42] وَمِنهُم مَن يَستَمِعونَ إِلَيكَ ۚ أَفَأَنتَ تُسمِعُ الصُّمَّ وَلَو كانوا لا يَعقِلونَ

[42] তাদের কেউ কেউ কান রাখে তোমাদের প্রতি; তুমি বধিরদেরকে কি শোনাবে যদি তাদের বিবেক-বুদ্ধি না থাকে!

[42] And among them are some who listen to you, but can you make the deaf to hear,— even though they apprehend not?

[43] وَمِنهُم مَن يَنظُرُ إِلَيكَ ۚ أَفَأَنتَ تَهدِى العُمىَ وَلَو كانوا لا يُبصِرونَ

[43] আবার তাদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ তোমাদের প্রতি দৃষ্টিনিবদ্ধ রাখে; তুমি অন্ধদেরকে কি পথ দেখাবে যদি তারা মোটেও দেখতে না পারে।

[43] And among them are some who look at you, but can you guide the blind,— even though they see not?

[44] إِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَظلِمُ النّاسَ شَيـًٔا وَلٰكِنَّ النّاسَ أَنفُسَهُم يَظلِمونَ

[44] আল্লাহ জুলুম করেন না মানুষের উপর, বরং মানুষ নিজেই নিজের উপর জুলুম করে।

[44] Truly! Allâh wrongs not mankind in aught; but mankind wrong themselves.

[45] وَيَومَ يَحشُرُهُم كَأَن لَم يَلبَثوا إِلّا ساعَةً مِنَ النَّهارِ يَتَعارَفونَ بَينَهُم ۚ قَد خَسِرَ الَّذينَ كَذَّبوا بِلِقاءِ اللَّهِ وَما كانوا مُهتَدينَ

[45] আর যেদিন তাদেরকে সমবেত করা হবে, যেন তারা অবস্থান করেনি, তবে দিনের একদন্ড একজন অপরজনকে চিনবে। নিঃসন্দেহে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে যারা মিথ্যা প্রতিপন্ন করেছে আল্লাহর সাথে সাক্ষাতকে এবং সরলপথে আসেনি।

[45] And on the Day when He shall gather (resurrect) them together, (it will be) as if they had not stayed (in the life of this world and graves) but an hour of a day. They will recognise each other. Ruined indeed will be those who denied the meeting with Allâh, and were not guided.

[46] وَإِمّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعضَ الَّذى نَعِدُهُم أَو نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِلَينا مَرجِعُهُم ثُمَّ اللَّهُ شَهيدٌ عَلىٰ ما يَفعَلونَ

[46] আর যদি আমি দেখাই তোমাকে সে ওয়াদাসমূহের মধ্য থেকে কোন কিছু যা আমি তাদের সাথে করেছি, অথবা তোমাকে মৃত্যুদান করি, যাহোক, আমার কাছেই তাদেরকে প্রত্যাবর্তন করতে হবে। বস্তুতঃ আল্লাহ সে সমস্ত কর্মের সাক্ষী যা তারা করে।

[46] Whether We show you (in your lifetime, O Muhammad SAW) some of what We promise them (the torment), – or We cause you to die, – still unto Us is their return, and moreover Allâh is Witness over what they used to do.

[47] وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ رَسولٌ ۖ فَإِذا جاءَ رَسولُهُم قُضِىَ بَينَهُم بِالقِسطِ وَهُم لا يُظلَمونَ

[47] আর প্রত্যেক সম্প্রদায়ের একেকজন রসূল রয়েছে। যখন তাদের কাছে তাদের রসূল ন্যায়দন্ডসহ উপস্থিত হল, তখন আর তাদের উপর জুলুম হয় না।

[47] And for every Ummah (a community or a nation), there is a Messenger; when their Messenger comes, the matter will be judged between them with justice, and they will not be wronged.

[48] وَيَقولونَ مَتىٰ هٰذَا الوَعدُ إِن كُنتُم صٰدِقينَ

[48] তারা আরো বলে, এ ওয়াদা কবে আসবে, যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হয়ে থাক?

[48] And they say: “When will be this promise (the torment or the Day of Resurrection), – if you speak the truth?”

[49] قُل لا أَملِكُ لِنَفسى ضَرًّا وَلا نَفعًا إِلّا ما شاءَ اللَّهُ ۗ لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ ۚ إِذا جاءَ أَجَلُهُم فَلا يَستَـٔخِرونَ ساعَةً ۖ وَلا يَستَقدِمونَ

[49] তুমি বল, আমি আমার নিজের ক্ষতি কিংবা লাভেরও মালিক নই, কিন্তু আল্লাহ যা ইচ্ছা করেন। প্রত্যেক সম্প্রদায়ের জন্যই একেকটি ওয়াদা রয়েছে, যখন তাদের সে ওয়াদা এসে পৌঁছে যাবে, তখন না একদন্ড পেছনে সরতে পারবে, না সামনে ফসকাতে পারবে,।

[49] Say (O Muhammad SAW): “I have no power over any harm or profit to myself except what Allâh may will. For every Ummah (a community or a nation), there is a term appointed; when their term comes, neither can they delay it nor can they advance it an hour (or a moment).” (Tafsir Al-Qurtubî).

[50] قُل أَرَءَيتُم إِن أَتىٰكُم عَذابُهُ بَيٰتًا أَو نَهارًا ماذا يَستَعجِلُ مِنهُ المُجرِمونَ

[50] তুমি বল, আচ্ছা দেখ তো দেখি, যদি তোমাদের উপর তার আযাব রাতারাতি অথবা দিনের বেলায় এসে পৌঁছে যায়, তবে এর আগে পাপীরা কি করবে?

[50] Say: “Tell me, – if His torment should come to you by night or by day, – which portion thereof would the Mujrimûn (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals) hasten on ?”

[51] أَثُمَّ إِذا ما وَقَعَ ءامَنتُم بِهِ ۚ ءالـٰٔنَ وَقَد كُنتُم بِهِ تَستَعجِلونَ

[51] তাহলে কি আযাব সংঘটিত হয়ে যাবার পর এর প্রতি বিশ্বাস করবে? এখন স্বীকার করলে? অথচ তোমরা এরই তাকাদা করতে?

[51] Is it then, that when it has actually befallen, you will believe in it? What! Now (you believe)? And you used (aforetime) to hasten it on!”

[52] ثُمَّ قيلَ لِلَّذينَ ظَلَموا ذوقوا عَذابَ الخُلدِ هَل تُجزَونَ إِلّا بِما كُنتُم تَكسِبونَ

[52] অতঃপর বলা হবে, গোনাহগারদিগকে, ভোগ করতে থাক অনন্ত আযাব-তোমরা যা কিছু করতে তার তাই প্রতিফল।

[52] Then it will be said to them who wronged themselves: “Taste you the everlasting torment! Are you recompensed (aught) save what you used to earn?”

[53] ۞ وَيَستَنبِـٔونَكَ أَحَقٌّ هُوَ ۖ قُل إى وَرَبّى إِنَّهُ لَحَقٌّ ۖ وَما أَنتُم بِمُعجِزينَ

[53] আর তোমার কাছে সংবাদ জিজ্ঞেস করে, এটা কি সত্য ? বলে দাও, অবশ্যই আমার পরওয়ারদেগারের কসম এটা সত্য। আর তোমরা পরিশ্রান্ত করে দিতে পারবে না।

[53] And they ask you (O Muhammad SAW) to inform them (saying): “Is it true (i.e. the torment and the establishment of the Hour; – the Day of Resurrection)?” Say: “Yes! By my Lord! It is the very truth! and you cannot escape it!”

[54] وَلَو أَنَّ لِكُلِّ نَفسٍ ظَلَمَت ما فِى الأَرضِ لَافتَدَت بِهِ ۗ وَأَسَرُّوا النَّدامَةَ لَمّا رَأَوُا العَذابَ ۖ وَقُضِىَ بَينَهُم بِالقِسطِ ۚ وَهُم لا يُظلَمونَ

[54] বস্তুতঃ যদি প্রত্যেক গোনাহগারের কাছে এত পরিমাণ থাকে যা আছে সমগ্র যমীনের মাঝে, আর অবশ্যই যদি সেগুলো নিজের মুক্তির বিনিময়ে দিতে চাইবে আর গোপনে গোপনে অনুতাপ করবে, যখন আযাব দেখবে। বস্তুতঃ তাদের জন্য সিদ্ধান্ত হবে ন্যায়সঙ্গত এবং তাদের উপর জুলম হবে না।

[54] And if every person who had wronged (by disbelieving in Allâh and by worshipping others besides Allâh), possessed all that is on earth, and sought to ransom himself therewith (it will not be accepted), and they would feel in their hearts regret when they see the torment, and they will be judged with justice, and no wrong will be done unto them.

[55] أَلا إِنَّ لِلَّهِ ما فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضِ ۗ أَلا إِنَّ وَعدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَلٰكِنَّ أَكثَرَهُم لا يَعلَمونَ

[55] শুনে রাখ, যা কিছু রয়েছে আসমানসমূহে ও যমীনে সবই আল্লাহর। শুনে রাখ, আল্লাহর প্রতিশ্রুতি সত্য। তবে অনেকেই জানে না।

[55] No doubt, surely, all that is in the heavens and the earth belongs to Allâh. No doubt, surely, Allâh’s Promise is true. But most of them know not.

[56] هُوَ يُحيۦ وَيُميتُ وَإِلَيهِ تُرجَعونَ

[56] তিনিই জীবন ও মরণ দান করেন এবং তাঁরই কাছে প্রত্যাবর্তন করতে হবে।

[56] It is He Who gives life, and causes death, and to Him you (all) shall return.
