[6] وَإِن أَحَدٌ مِنَ المُشرِكينَ استَجارَكَ فَأَجِرهُ حَتّىٰ يَسمَعَ كَلٰمَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ أَبلِغهُ مَأمَنَهُ ۚ ذٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُم قَومٌ لا يَعلَمونَ

[6] আর মুশরিকদের কেউ যদি তোমার কাছে আশ্রয় প্রার্থনা করে, তবে তাকে আশ্রয় দেবে, যাতে সে আল্লাহর কালাম শুনতে পায়, অতঃপর তাকে তার নিরাপদ স্থানে পৌছে দেবে। এটি এজন্যে যে এরা জ্ঞান রাখে না।

[6] And if anyone of the Mushrikûn (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) seeks your protection then grant him protection, so that he may hear the Word of Allâh (the Qur’ân), and then escort him to where he can be secure, that is because they are men who know not.

[7] كَيفَ يَكونُ لِلمُشرِكينَ عَهدٌ عِندَ اللَّهِ وَعِندَ رَسولِهِ إِلَّا الَّذينَ عٰهَدتُم عِندَ المَسجِدِ الحَرامِ ۖ فَمَا استَقٰموا لَكُم فَاستَقيموا لَهُم ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ المُتَّقينَ

[7] মুশরিকদের চুক্তি আল্লাহর নিকট ও তাঁর রসূলের নিকট কিরূপে বলবৎ থাকবে। তবে যাদের সাথে তোমরা চুক্তি সম্পাদন করেছ মসজিদুল-হারামের নিকট। অতএব, যে পর্যন্ত তারা তোমাদের জন্যে সরল থাকে, তোমরাও তাদের জন্য সরল থাক। নিঃসন্দেহের আল্লাহ সাবধানীদের পছন্দ করেন।

[7] How can there be a covenant with Allâh and with His Messenger for the Mushrikûn (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) except those with whom you made a covenant near Al-Masjid-al-Harâm (at Makkah)? So long, as they are true to you, stand you true to them. Verily, Allâh loves Al-Muttaqûn (the pious – see V.2:2)

[8] كَيفَ وَإِن يَظهَروا عَلَيكُم لا يَرقُبوا فيكُم إِلًّا وَلا ذِمَّةً ۚ يُرضونَكُم بِأَفوٰهِهِم وَتَأبىٰ قُلوبُهُم وَأَكثَرُهُم فٰسِقونَ

[8] কিরূপে? তারা তোমাদের উপর জয়ী হলে তোমাদের আত্নীয়তার ও অঙ্গীকারের কোন মর্যাদা দেবে না। তারা মুখে তোমাদের সন্তুষ্ট করে, কিন্তু তাদের অন্তরসমূহ তা অস্বীকার করে, আর তাদের অধিকাংশ প্রতিশ্রুতি ভঙ্গকারী।

[8] How (can there be such a covenant with them) that when you are overpowered by them, they regard not the ties, either of kinship or of covenant with you? With (good words from) their mouths they please you, but their hearts are averse to you, and most of them are Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh).

[9] اشتَرَوا بِـٔايٰتِ اللَّهِ ثَمَنًا قَليلًا فَصَدّوا عَن سَبيلِهِ ۚ إِنَّهُم ساءَ ما كانوا يَعمَلونَ

[9] তারা আল্লাহর আয়াত সমূহ নগন্য মুল্যে বিক্রয় করে, অতঃপর লোকদের নিবৃত রাখে তাঁর পথ থেকে, তারা যা করে চলছে, তা অতি নিকৃষ্ট।

[9] They have purchased with the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allâh a little gain, and they hindered men from His Way; evil indeed is that which they used to do.

[10] لا يَرقُبونَ فى مُؤمِنٍ إِلًّا وَلا ذِمَّةً ۚ وَأُولٰئِكَ هُمُ المُعتَدونَ

[10] তারা মর্যাদা দেয় না কোন মুসলমানের ক্ষেত্রে আত্নীয়তার, আর না অঙ্গীকারের। আর তারাই সীমালংঘনকারী।

[10] With regard to a believer, they respect not the ties, either of kinship or of covenant! It is they who are the transgressors.

[11] فَإِن تابوا وَأَقامُوا الصَّلوٰةَ وَءاتَوُا الزَّكوٰةَ فَإِخوٰنُكُم فِى الدّينِ ۗ وَنُفَصِّلُ الءايٰتِ لِقَومٍ يَعلَمونَ

[11] অবশ্য তারা যদি তওবা করে, নামায কায়েম করে আর যাকাত আদায় করে, তবে তারা তোমাদের দ্বীনী ভাই। আর আমি বিধানসমূহে জ্ঞানী লোকদের জন্যে সর্বস্তরে র্বণনা করে থাকি।

[11] But if they repent, perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât) and give Zakât, then they are your brethren in religion. (In this way) We explain the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in detail for a people who know.

[12] وَإِن نَكَثوا أَيمٰنَهُم مِن بَعدِ عَهدِهِم وَطَعَنوا فى دينِكُم فَقٰتِلوا أَئِمَّةَ الكُفرِ ۙ إِنَّهُم لا أَيمٰنَ لَهُم لَعَلَّهُم يَنتَهونَ

[12] আর যদি ভঙ্গ করে তারা তাদের শপথ প্রতিশ্রুতির পর এবং বিদ্রুপ করে তোমাদের দ্বীন সম্পর্কে, তবে কুফর প্রধানদের সাথে যুদ্ধ কর। কারণ, এদের কেন শপথ নেই যাতে তারা ফিরে আসে।

[12] But if they violate their oaths after their covenant, and attack your religion with disapproval and criticism then fight (you) the leaders of disbelief (chiefs of Quraish – pagans of Makkah) – for surely their oaths are nothing to them – so that they may stop (evil actions).

[13] أَلا تُقٰتِلونَ قَومًا نَكَثوا أَيمٰنَهُم وَهَمّوا بِإِخراجِ الرَّسولِ وَهُم بَدَءوكُم أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ ۚ أَتَخشَونَهُم ۚ فَاللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَن تَخشَوهُ إِن كُنتُم مُؤمِنينَ

[13] তোমরা কি সেই দলের সাথে যুদ্ধ করবে না; যারা ভঙ্গ করেছে নিজেদের শপথ এবং সঙ্কল্প নিয়েছে রসূলকে বহিস্কারের? আর এরাই প্রথম তোমাদের সাথে বিবাদের সূত্রপাত করেছে। তোমরা কি তাদের ভয় কর? অথচ তোমাদের ভয়ের অধিকতর যোগ্য হলেন আল্লাহ, যদি তোমরা মুমিন হও।

[13] Will you not fight a people who have violated their oaths (pagans of Makkah) and intended to expel the Messenger, while they did attack you first? Do you fear them? Allâh has more right that you should fear Him, if you are believers.

[14] قٰتِلوهُم يُعَذِّبهُمُ اللَّهُ بِأَيديكُم وَيُخزِهِم وَيَنصُركُم عَلَيهِم وَيَشفِ صُدورَ قَومٍ مُؤمِنينَ

[14] যুদ্ধ কর ওদের সাথে, আল্লাহ তোমাদের হস্তে তাদের শাস্তি দেবেন। তাদের লাঞ্ছিত করবেন, তাদের বিরুদ্ধে তোমাদের জয়ী করবেন এবং মুসলমানদের অন্তরসমূহ শান্ত করবেন।

[14] Fight against them so that Allâh will punish them by your hands and disgrace them and give you victory over them and heal the breasts of a believing people,

[15] وَيُذهِب غَيظَ قُلوبِهِم ۗ وَيَتوبُ اللَّهُ عَلىٰ مَن يَشاءُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَليمٌ حَكيمٌ

[15] এবং তাদের মনের ক্ষোভ দূর করবেন। আর আল্লাহ যার প্রতি ইচ্ছা ক্ষমাশীল হবে, আল্লাহ সর্বজ্ঞ, প্রজ্ঞাময়।

[15] And remove the anger of their (believers’) hearts. Allâh accepts the repentance of whom He wills. Allâh is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

[16] أَم حَسِبتُم أَن تُترَكوا وَلَمّا يَعلَمِ اللَّهُ الَّذينَ جٰهَدوا مِنكُم وَلَم يَتَّخِذوا مِن دونِ اللَّهِ وَلا رَسولِهِ وَلَا المُؤمِنينَ وَليجَةً ۚ وَاللَّهُ خَبيرٌ بِما تَعمَلونَ

[16] তোমরা কি মনে কর যে, তোমাদের ছেড়ে দেয়া হবে এমনি, যতক্ষণ না আল্লাহ জেনে নেবেন তোমাদের কে যুদ্ধ করেছে এবং কে আল্লাহ, তাঁর রসূল ও মুসলমানদের ব্যতীত অন্য কাউকে অন্তরঙ্গ বন্ধুরূপে গ্রহণ করা থেকে বিরত রয়েছে। আর তোমরা যা কর সে বিষয়ে আল্লাহ সবিশেষ অবহিত।

[16] Do you think that you shall be left alone while Allâh has not yet tested those among you who have striven hard and fought and have not taken Walîjah [(Batanah – helpers, advisors and consultants from disbelievers, pagans) giving openly to them their secrets] besides Allâh and His Messenger, and the believers. Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do.

[17] ما كانَ لِلمُشرِكينَ أَن يَعمُروا مَسٰجِدَ اللَّهِ شٰهِدينَ عَلىٰ أَنفُسِهِم بِالكُفرِ ۚ أُولٰئِكَ حَبِطَت أَعمٰلُهُم وَفِى النّارِ هُم خٰلِدونَ

[17] মুশরিকরা যোগ্যতা রাখে না আল্লাহর মসজিদ আবাদ করার, যখন তারা নিজেরাই নিজেদের কুফরীর স্বীকৃতি দিচ্ছে। এদের আমল বরবাদ হবে এবং এরা আগুনে স্থায়ীভাবে বসবাস করবে।

[17] It is not for the Mushrikûn (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh), to maintain the Mosques of Allâh (i.e. to pray and worship Allâh therein, to look after their cleanliness and their building), while they witness against their ownselves of disbelief. The works of such are in vain and in Fire shall they abide.

[18] إِنَّما يَعمُرُ مَسٰجِدَ اللَّهِ مَن ءامَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَاليَومِ الءاخِرِ وَأَقامَ الصَّلوٰةَ وَءاتَى الزَّكوٰةَ وَلَم يَخشَ إِلَّا اللَّهَ ۖ فَعَسىٰ أُولٰئِكَ أَن يَكونوا مِنَ المُهتَدينَ

[18] নিঃসন্দেহে তারাই আল্লাহর মসজিদ আবাদ করবে যারা ঈমান এনেছে আল্লাহর প্রতি ও শেষ দিনের প্রতি এবং কায়েম করেছে নামায ও আদায় করে যাকাত; আল্লাহ ব্যতীত আর কাউকে ভয় করে না। অতএব, আশা করা যায়, তারা হেদায়েত প্রাপ্তদের অন্তর্ভূক্ত হবে।

[18] The Mosques of Allâh shall be maintained only by those who believe in Allâh and the Last Day; perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât), and give Zakât and fear none but Allâh. It is they who are on true guidance.

[19] ۞ أَجَعَلتُم سِقايَةَ الحاجِّ وَعِمارَةَ المَسجِدِ الحَرامِ كَمَن ءامَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَاليَومِ الءاخِرِ وَجٰهَدَ فى سَبيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ لا يَستَوۥنَ عِندَ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لا يَهدِى القَومَ الظّٰلِمينَ

[19] তোমরা কি হাজীদের পানি সরবরাহ ও মসজিদুল-হারাম আবাদকরণকে সেই লোকের সমান মনে কর, যে ঈমান রাখে আল্লাহ ও শেষ দিনের প্রতি এবং যুদ্ধ করেছে আল্লাহর রাহে, এরা আল্লাহর দৃষ্টিতে সমান নয়, আর আল্লাহ জালেম লোকদের হেদায়েত করেন না।

[19] Do you consider the providing of drinking water to the pilgrims and the maintenance of Al-Masjid-al-Harâm (at Makkah) as equal to the worth of those who believe in Allâh and the Last Day, and strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allâh? They are not equal before Allâh. And Allâh guides not those people who are the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers).

[20] الَّذينَ ءامَنوا وَهاجَروا وَجٰهَدوا فى سَبيلِ اللَّهِ بِأَموٰلِهِم وَأَنفُسِهِم أَعظَمُ دَرَجَةً عِندَ اللَّهِ ۚ وَأُولٰئِكَ هُمُ الفائِزونَ

[20] যারা ঈমান এনেছে, দেশ ত্যাগ করেছে এবং আল্লাহর রাহে নিজেদের জান ও মাল দিয়ে জেহাদ করেছে, তাদের বড় মর্যাদা রয়েছে আল্লাহর কাছে আর তারাই সফলকাম।

[20] Those who believed (in the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism) and emigrated and strove hard and fought in Allâh’s Cause with their wealth and their lives are far higher in degree with Allâh. They are the successful.

[21] يُبَشِّرُهُم رَبُّهُم بِرَحمَةٍ مِنهُ وَرِضوٰنٍ وَجَنّٰتٍ لَهُم فيها نَعيمٌ مُقيمٌ

[21] তাদের সুসংবাদ দিচ্ছেন তাদের পরওয়ারদেগার স্বীয় দয়া ও সন্তোষের এবং জান্নাতের, সেখানে আছে তাদের জন্য স্থায়ী শান্তি।

[21] Their Lord gives them glad tidings of Mercy from Him, and that His being pleased (with them), and of Gardens (Paradise) for them wherein are everlasting delights.

[22] خٰلِدينَ فيها أَبَدًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عِندَهُ أَجرٌ عَظيمٌ

[22] তথায় তারা থাকবে চিরদিন। নিঃসন্দেহে আল্লাহর কাছে আছে মহাপুরস্কার।

[22] They will dwell therein forever. Verily, with Allâh is a great reward.

[23] يٰأَيُّهَا الَّذينَ ءامَنوا لا تَتَّخِذوا ءاباءَكُم وَإِخوٰنَكُم أَولِياءَ إِنِ استَحَبُّوا الكُفرَ عَلَى الإيمٰنِ ۚ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُم مِنكُم فَأُولٰئِكَ هُمُ الظّٰلِمونَ

[23] হে ঈমানদারগণ! তোমরা স্বীয় পিতা ও ভাইদের অভিভাবকরূপে গ্রহণ করো না, যদি তারা ঈমান অপেক্ষা কুফরকে ভালবাসে। আর তোমাদের যারা তাদের অভিভাবকরূপে গ্রহণ করে তারা সীমালংঘনকারী।

[23] O you who believe! Take not for Auliyâ’ (supporters and helpers) your fathers and your brothers if they prefer disbelief to Belief. And whoever of you does so, then he is one of the Zâlimûn (wrong-doers).

[24] قُل إِن كانَ ءاباؤُكُم وَأَبناؤُكُم وَإِخوٰنُكُم وَأَزوٰجُكُم وَعَشيرَتُكُم وَأَموٰلٌ اقتَرَفتُموها وَتِجٰرَةٌ تَخشَونَ كَسادَها وَمَسٰكِنُ تَرضَونَها أَحَبَّ إِلَيكُم مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسولِهِ وَجِهادٍ فى سَبيلِهِ فَتَرَبَّصوا حَتّىٰ يَأتِىَ اللَّهُ بِأَمرِهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لا يَهدِى القَومَ الفٰسِقينَ

[24] বল, তোমাদের নিকট যদি তোমাদের পিতা তোমাদের সন্তান, তোমাদের ভাই তোমাদের পত্নী, তোমাদের গোত্র তোমাদের অর্জিত ধন-সম্পদ, তোমাদের ব্যবসা যা বন্ধ হয়ে যাওয়ার ভয় কর এবং তোমাদের বাসস্থান-যাকে তোমরা পছন্দ কর-আল্লাহ, তাঁর রসূল ও তাঁর রাহে জেহাদ করা থেকে অধিক প্রিয় হয়, তবে অপেক্ষা কর, আল্লাহর বিধান আসা পর্যন্ত, আর আল্লাহ ফাসেক সম্প্রদায়কে হেদায়েত করেন না।

[24] Say: If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your kindred, the wealth that you have gained, the commerce in which you fear a decline, and the dwellings in which you delight are dearer to you than Allâh and His Messenger, and striving hard and fighting in His Cause, then wait until Allâh brings about His Decision (torment). And Allâh guides not the people who are Al-Fâsiqûn (the rebellious, disobedient to Allâh)

[25] لَقَد نَصَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ فى مَواطِنَ كَثيرَةٍ ۙ وَيَومَ حُنَينٍ ۙ إِذ أَعجَبَتكُم كَثرَتُكُم فَلَم تُغنِ عَنكُم شَيـًٔا وَضاقَت عَلَيكُمُ الأَرضُ بِما رَحُبَت ثُمَّ وَلَّيتُم مُدبِرينَ

[25] আল্লাহ তোমাদের সাহায্য করেছেন অনেক ক্ষেত্রে এবং হোনাইনের দিনে, যখন তোমাদের সংখ্যধিক্য তোমাদের প্রফুল্ল করেছিল, কিন্তু তা তোমাদের কোন কাজে আসেনি এবং পৃথিবী প্রশস্ত হওয়া সত্তেও তোমাদের জন্য সংকুচিত হয়েছিল। অতঃপর পৃষ্ঠ প্রদর্শন করে পলায়ন করেছিলে।

[25] Truly Allâh has given you victory on many battlefields, and on the Day of Hunain (battle) when you rejoiced at your great number but it availed you naught and the earth, vast as it is, was straitened for you, then you turned back in flight.
