[152] وَلا تَقرَبوا مالَ اليَتيمِ إِلّا بِالَّتى هِىَ أَحسَنُ حَتّىٰ يَبلُغَ أَشُدَّهُ ۖ وَأَوفُوا الكَيلَ وَالميزانَ بِالقِسطِ ۖ لا نُكَلِّفُ نَفسًا إِلّا وُسعَها ۖ وَإِذا قُلتُم فَاعدِلوا وَلَو كانَ ذا قُربىٰ ۖ وَبِعَهدِ اللَّهِ أَوفوا ۚ ذٰلِكُم وَصّىٰكُم بِهِ لَعَلَّكُم تَذَكَّرونَ

[152] এতীমদের ধনসম্পদের কাছেও যেয়ো না; কিন্তু উত্তম পন্থায় যে পর্যন্ত সে বয়ঃপ্রাপ্ত না হয়। ওজন ও মাপ পূর্ণ কর ন্যায় সহকারে। আমি কাউকে তার সাধ্যের অতীত কষ্ট দেই না। যখন তোমরা কথা বল, তখন সুবিচার কর, যদিও সে আত্নীয়ও হয়। আল্লাহর অঙ্গীকার পূর্ণ কর।

[152] “And come not near to the orphan’s property, except to improve it, until he (or she) attains the age of full strength; and give full measure and full weight with justice. We burden not any person, but that which he can bear. And whenever you give your word (i.e. judge between men or give evidence), say the truth even if a near relative is concerned, and fulfill the Covenant of Allâh, This He commands you, that you may remember.

[153] وَأَنَّ هٰذا صِرٰطى مُستَقيمًا فَاتَّبِعوهُ ۖ وَلا تَتَّبِعُوا السُّبُلَ فَتَفَرَّقَ بِكُم عَن سَبيلِهِ ۚ ذٰلِكُم وَصّىٰكُم بِهِ لَعَلَّكُم تَتَّقونَ

[153] তোমাদেরকে এ নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন, যেন তোমরা উপদেশ গ্রহণ কর। নিশ্চিত এটি আমার সরল পথ। অতএব, এ পথে চল এবং অন্যান্য পথে চলো না। তা হলে সেসব পথ তোমাদেরকে তাঁর পথ থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন করে দিবে। তোমাদেরকে এ নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন, যাতে তোমরা সংযত হও।

[153] “And verily, this (i.e. Allâh’s Commandments mentioned in the above two Verses 151 and 152) is my Straight Path, so follow it, and follow not (other) paths, for they will separate you away from His Path. This He has ordained for you that you may become Al-Muttaqûn (the pious – see V.2:2).”

[154] ثُمَّ ءاتَينا موسَى الكِتٰبَ تَمامًا عَلَى الَّذى أَحسَنَ وَتَفصيلًا لِكُلِّ شَيءٍ وَهُدًى وَرَحمَةً لَعَلَّهُم بِلِقاءِ رَبِّهِم يُؤمِنونَ

[154] অতঃপর আমি মূসাকে গ্রন্থ দিয়েছি, সৎকর্মীদের প্রতি নেয়ামতপূর্ণ করার জন্যে, প্রত্যেক বস্তুর বিশদ বিবরণের জন্যে, হোদায়াতের জন্যে এবং করুণার জন্যে-যাতে তারা স্বীয় পালনকর্তার সাথে সাক্ষাতে বিশ্বাসী হয়।

[154] Then, We gave Mûsa (Moses) the Book [the Taurât (Torah)], to complete (Our Favour) upon those who would do right, and explaining all things in detail and a guidance and a mercy that they might believe in the meeting with their Lord.

[155] وَهٰذا كِتٰبٌ أَنزَلنٰهُ مُبارَكٌ فَاتَّبِعوهُ وَاتَّقوا لَعَلَّكُم تُرحَمونَ

[155] এটি এমন একটি গ্রন্থ, যা আমি অবতীর্ণ করেছি, খুব মঙ্গলময়, অতএব, এর অনুসরণ কর এবং ভয় কর-যাতে তোমরা করুণাপ্রাপ্ত হও।

[155] And this is a blessed Book (the Qur’ân) which We have sent down, so follow it and fear Allâh (i.e. do not disobey His Orders), that you may receive mercy (i.e. be saved from the torment of Hell).

[156] أَن تَقولوا إِنَّما أُنزِلَ الكِتٰبُ عَلىٰ طائِفَتَينِ مِن قَبلِنا وَإِن كُنّا عَن دِراسَتِهِم لَغٰفِلينَ

[156] এ জন্যে যে, কখনও তোমরা বলতে শুরু করঃ গ্রন্থ তো কেবল আমাদের পূর্ববর্তী দু`সম্প্রদায়ের প্রতিই অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে এবং আমরা সেগুলোর পাঠ ও পঠন সম্পর্কে কিছুই জানতাম না।

[156] Lest you (pagan Arabs) should say: “The Book was sent down only to two sects before us (the Jews and the Christians), and for our part, we were in fact unaware of what they studied.”

[157] أَو تَقولوا لَو أَنّا أُنزِلَ عَلَينَا الكِتٰبُ لَكُنّا أَهدىٰ مِنهُم ۚ فَقَد جاءَكُم بَيِّنَةٌ مِن رَبِّكُم وَهُدًى وَرَحمَةٌ ۚ فَمَن أَظلَمُ مِمَّن كَذَّبَ بِـٔايٰتِ اللَّهِ وَصَدَفَ عَنها ۗ سَنَجزِى الَّذينَ يَصدِفونَ عَن ءايٰتِنا سوءَ العَذابِ بِما كانوا يَصدِفونَ

[157] কিংবা বলতে শুরু করঃ যদি আমাদের প্রতি কোন গ্রন্থ অবতীর্ণ হত, আমরা এদের চাইতে অধিক পথপ্রাপ্ত হতাম। অতএব, তোমাদের পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে তোমাদের কাছে সুষ্পষ্ট প্রমাণ, হেদায়েত ও রহমত এসে গেছে। অতঃপর সে ব্যক্তির চাইতে অধিক অনাচারী কে হবে, যে আল্লাহর আয়াত সমূহকে মিথ্যা বলে এবং গা বাঁচিয়ে চলে। অতি সত্ত্বর আমি তাদেরকে শাস্তি দেব। যারা আমার আয়াত সমূহ থেকে গা বাঁচিয়ে চলে-জঘন্য শাস্তি তাদের গা বাঁচানোর কারণে।

[157] Or lest you (pagan Arabs) should say: “If only the Book had been sent down to us, we would surely have been better guided than they (Jews and Christians).” So now has come unto you a clear proof (the Qur’ân) from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy. Who then does more wrong than one who rejects the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allâh and turns away therefrom? We shall requite those who turn away from Our Ayât with an evil torment, because of their turning away (from them). [Tafsir At-Tabari].

[158] هَل يَنظُرونَ إِلّا أَن تَأتِيَهُمُ المَلٰئِكَةُ أَو يَأتِىَ رَبُّكَ أَو يَأتِىَ بَعضُ ءايٰتِ رَبِّكَ ۗ يَومَ يَأتى بَعضُ ءايٰتِ رَبِّكَ لا يَنفَعُ نَفسًا إيمٰنُها لَم تَكُن ءامَنَت مِن قَبلُ أَو كَسَبَت فى إيمٰنِها خَيرًا ۗ قُلِ انتَظِروا إِنّا مُنتَظِرونَ

[158] তারা শুধু এ বিষয়ের দিকে চেয়ে আছে যে, তাদের কাছে ফেরেশতা আগমন করবে কিংবা আপনার পালনকর্তা আগমন করবেন অথবা আপনার পালনকর্তার কোন নির্দেশ আসবে। যেদিন আপনার পালনকর্তার কোন নিদর্শন আসবে, সেদিন এমন কোন ব্যক্তির বিশ্বাস স্থাপন তার জন্যে ফলপ্রসূ হবে না, যে পূর্ব থেকে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেনি কিংবা স্বীয় বিশ্বাস অনুযায়ী কোনরূপ সৎকর্ম করেনি। আপনি বলে দিনঃ তোমরা পথের দিকে চেয়ে থাক, আমরাও পথে দিকে তাকিয়ে রইলাম।

[158] Do they then wait for anything other than that the angels should come to them, or that your Lord (Allah) should come, or that some of the Signs of your Lord should come (i.e. portents of the Hour e.g., arising of the sun from the west)! The day that some of the Signs of your Lord do come, no good will it do to a person to believe then, if he believed not before, nor earned good (by performing deeds of righteousness) through his Faith. Say: “Wait you! we (too) are waiting.”

[159] إِنَّ الَّذينَ فَرَّقوا دينَهُم وَكانوا شِيَعًا لَستَ مِنهُم فى شَيءٍ ۚ إِنَّما أَمرُهُم إِلَى اللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُم بِما كانوا يَفعَلونَ

[159] নিশ্চয় যারা স্বীয় ধর্মকে খন্ড-বিখন্ড করেছে এবং অনেক দল হয়ে গেছে, তাদের সাথে আপনার কোন সম্পর্ক নেই। তাদের ব্যাপার আল্লাহ তা`আয়ালার নিকট সমর্পিত। অতঃপর তিনি বলে দেবেন যা কিছু তারা করে থাকে।

[159] Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects (all kinds of religious sects), you (O Muhammad SAW) have no concern in them in the least. Their affair is only with Allâh, Who then will tell them what they used to do.

[160] مَن جاءَ بِالحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشرُ أَمثالِها ۖ وَمَن جاءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَلا يُجزىٰ إِلّا مِثلَها وَهُم لا يُظلَمونَ

[160] যে একটি সৎকর্ম করবে, সে তার দশগুণ পাবে এবং যে, একটি মন্দ কাজ করবে, সে তার সমান শাস্তিই পাবে। বস্তুতঃ তাদের প্রতি জুলুম করা হবে না।

[160] Whoever brings a good deed (Islâmic Monotheism and deeds of obedience to Allâh and His Messenger SAW) shall have ten times the like thereof to his credit, and whoever brings an evil deed (polytheism, disbelief, hypocrisy, and deeds of disobedience to Allâh and His Messenger SAW) shall have only the recompense of the like thereof, and they will not be wronged.

[161] قُل إِنَّنى هَدىٰنى رَبّى إِلىٰ صِرٰطٍ مُستَقيمٍ دينًا قِيَمًا مِلَّةَ إِبرٰهيمَ حَنيفًا ۚ وَما كانَ مِنَ المُشرِكينَ

[161] আপনি বলে দিনঃ আমার প্রতিপালক আমাকে সরল পথ প্রদর্শন করেছেন একাগ্রচিত্ত ইব্রাহীমের বিশুদ্ধ ধর্ম। সে অংশীবাদীদের অন্তর্ভূক্ত ছিল না।

[161] Say (O Muhammad SAW): “Truly, my Lord has guided me to a Straight Path, a right religion, the religion of Ibrâhim (Abraham), Hanifa [i.e. the true Islâmic Monotheism – to believe in One God (Allâh i.e. to worship none but Allâh, Alone)] and he was not of Al-Mushrikûn (see V.2:105).”

[162] قُل إِنَّ صَلاتى وَنُسُكى وَمَحياىَ وَمَماتى لِلَّهِ رَبِّ العٰلَمينَ

[162] আপনি বলুনঃ আমার নামায, আমার কোরবাণী এবং আমার জীবন ও মরন বিশ্ব-প্রতিপালক আল্লাহরই জন্যে।

[162] Say (O Muhammad SAW): “Verily, my Salât (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allâh, the Lord of the ‘Alamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists)

[163] لا شَريكَ لَهُ ۖ وَبِذٰلِكَ أُمِرتُ وَأَنا۠ أَوَّلُ المُسلِمينَ

[163] তাঁর কোন অংশীদার নেই। আমি তাই আদিষ্ট হয়েছি এবং আমি প্রথম আনুগত্যশীল।

[163] “He has no partner. And of this I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims.”

[164] قُل أَغَيرَ اللَّهِ أَبغى رَبًّا وَهُوَ رَبُّ كُلِّ شَيءٍ ۚ وَلا تَكسِبُ كُلُّ نَفسٍ إِلّا عَلَيها ۚ وَلا تَزِرُ وازِرَةٌ وِزرَ أُخرىٰ ۚ ثُمَّ إِلىٰ رَبِّكُم مَرجِعُكُم فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِما كُنتُم فيهِ تَختَلِفونَ

[164] আপনি বলুনঃ আমি কি আল্লাহ ব্যতীত অন্য প্রতিপালক খোঁজব, অথচ তিনিই সবকিছুর প্রতিপালক? যে ব্যক্তি কোন গোনাহ করে, তা তারই দায়িত্বে থাকে। কেউ অপরের বোঝা বহন করবে না। অতঃপর তোমাদেরকে সবাইকে প্রতিপালকের কাছে প্রত্যাবর্তন করতে হবে। অনন্তর তিনি তোমাদেরকে বলে দিবেন, যেসব বিষয়ে তোমরা বিরোধ করতে।

[164] Say: “Shall I seek a lord other than Allâh, while He is the Lord of all things? No person earns any (sin) except against himself (only), and no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another. Then unto your Lord is your return, so He will tell you that wherein you have been differing.”

[165] وَهُوَ الَّذى جَعَلَكُم خَلٰئِفَ الأَرضِ وَرَفَعَ بَعضَكُم فَوقَ بَعضٍ دَرَجٰتٍ لِيَبلُوَكُم فى ما ءاتىٰكُم ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ سَريعُ العِقابِ وَإِنَّهُ لَغَفورٌ رَحيمٌ

[165] তিনিই তোমাদেরকে পৃথিবীতে প্রতিনিধি করেছেন এবং একে অন্যের উপর মর্যাদা সমুন্নত করেছেন, যাতে তোমাদের কে এ বিষয়ে পরীক্ষা করেন, যা তোমাদেরকে দিয়েছেন। আপনার প্রতিপালক দ্রুত শাস্তি দাতা এবং তিনি অত্যন্ত ক্ষমাশীল, দয়ালু।

[165] And it is He Who has made you generations coming after generations, replacing each other on the earth. And He has raised you in ranks, some above others that He may try you in that which He has bestowed on you. Surely your Lord is Swift in retribution, and certainly He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু

[1] আলিফ, লাম, মীম, ছোয়াদ।

[1] Alif-Lâm-Mîm-Sâd. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur’ân and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings].

[2] كِتٰبٌ أُنزِلَ إِلَيكَ فَلا يَكُن فى صَدرِكَ حَرَجٌ مِنهُ لِتُنذِرَ بِهِ وَذِكرىٰ لِلمُؤمِنينَ

[2] এটি একটি গ্রন্থ, যা আপনার প্রতি অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে, যাতে করে আপনি এর মাধ্যমে ভীতি-প্রদর্শন করেন। অতএব, এটি পৌছে দিতে আপনার মনে কোনরূপ সংকীর্ণতা থাকা উচিত নয়। আর এটিই বিশ্বাসীদের জন্যে উপদেশ।

[2] (This is the) Book (the Qur’ân) sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW), so let not your breast be narrow therefrom, that you warn thereby, and a reminder unto the believers.

[3] اتَّبِعوا ما أُنزِلَ إِلَيكُم مِن رَبِّكُم وَلا تَتَّبِعوا مِن دونِهِ أَولِياءَ ۗ قَليلًا ما تَذَكَّرونَ

[3] তোমরা অনুসরণ কর, যা তোমাদের প্রতি পালকের পক্ষ থেকে অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে এবং আল্লাহকে বাদ দিয়ে অন্য সাথীদের অনুসরণ করো না।

[3] [Say (O Muhammad SAW) to these idolaters (pagan Arabs) of your folk:] Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Qur’ân and Prophet Muhammad’s Sunnah), and follow not any Auliyâ’ (protectors and helpers who order you to associate partners in worship with Allâh), besides Him (Allâh). Little do you remember!

[4] وَكَم مِن قَريَةٍ أَهلَكنٰها فَجاءَها بَأسُنا بَيٰتًا أَو هُم قائِلونَ

[4] আর তোমরা অল্পই উপদেশ গ্রহণ কর। অনেক জনপদকে আমি ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছি। তাদের কাছে আমার আযাব রাত্রি বেলায় পৌছেছে অথবা দ্বিপ্রহরে বিশ্রামরত অবস্থায়।

[4] And a great number of towns (their population) We destroyed (for their crimes). Our torment came upon them (suddenly) by night or while they were taking their midday nap.

[5] فَما كانَ دَعوىٰهُم إِذ جاءَهُم بَأسُنا إِلّا أَن قالوا إِنّا كُنّا ظٰلِمينَ

[5] অনন্তর যখন তাদের কাছে আমার আযাব উপস্থিত হয়, তখন তাদের কথা এই ছিল যে, তারা বললঃ নিশ্চয় আমরা অত্যাচারী ছিলাম।

[5] No cry did they utter when Our Torment came upon them but this: “Verily, we were Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers)”.

[6] فَلَنَسـَٔلَنَّ الَّذينَ أُرسِلَ إِلَيهِم وَلَنَسـَٔلَنَّ المُرسَلينَ

[6] অতএব, আমি অবশ্যই তাদেরকে জিজ্ঞেস করব যাদের কাছে রসূল প্রেরিত হয়েছিল এবং আমি অবশ্যই তাদেরকে জিজ্ঞেস করব রসূলগণকে।

[6] Then surely, We shall question those (people) to whom it (the Book) was sent and verily, We shall question the Messengers.
