[114] وَمَن أَظلَمُ مِمَّن مَنَعَ مَسٰجِدَ اللَّهِ أَن يُذكَرَ فيهَا اسمُهُ وَسَعىٰ فى خَرابِها ۚ أُولٰئِكَ ما كانَ لَهُم أَن يَدخُلوها إِلّا خائِفينَ ۚ لَهُم فِى الدُّنيا خِزىٌ وَلَهُم فِى الءاخِرَةِ عَذابٌ عَظيمٌ

[114] যে ব্যাক্তি আল্লাহর মসজিদসমূহে তাঁর নাম উচ্চারণ করতে বাধা দেয় এবং সেগুলোকে উজাড় করতে চেষ্টা করে, তার চাইতে বড় যালেম আর কে? এদের পক্ষে মসজিদসমূহে প্রবেশ করা বিধেয় নয়, অবশ্য ভীত-সন্ত্রস্ত অবস্থায়। ওদের জন্য ইহকালে লাঞ্ছনা এবং পরকালে কঠিন শাস্তি রয়েছে।

[114] And who are more unjust than those who forbid that Allâh’s Name be glorified and mentioned much (i.e. prayers and invocations, etc.) in Allâh’s mosques and strive for their ruin? It was not fitting that such should themselves enter them (Allâh’s Mosques) except in fear. For them there is disgrace in this world, and they will have a great torment in the Hereafter.

[115] وَلِلَّهِ المَشرِقُ وَالمَغرِبُ ۚ فَأَينَما تُوَلّوا فَثَمَّ وَجهُ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وٰسِعٌ عَليمٌ

[115] পূর্ব ও পশ্চিম আল্লারই। অতএব, তোমরা যেদিকেই মুখ ফেরাও, সেদিকেই আল্লাহ বিরাজমান। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ সর্বব্যাপী, সর্বজ্ঞ।

[115] And to Allâh belong the east and the west, so wherever you turn (yourselves or your faces) there is the Face of Allâh (and He is High above, over His Throne). Surely! Allâh is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knowing.

[116] وَقالُوا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ وَلَدًا ۗ سُبحٰنَهُ ۖ بَل لَهُ ما فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضِ ۖ كُلٌّ لَهُ قٰنِتونَ

[116] তারা বলে, আল্লাহ সন্তান গ্রহণ করেছেন। তিনি তো এসব কিছু থেকে পবিত্র, বরং নভোমন্ডল ও ভূমন্ডলে যা কিছু রয়েছে সবই তার আজ্ঞাধীন।

[116] And they (Jews, Christians and pagans) say: Allâh has begotten a son (children or offspring). Glory be to Him (Exalted be He above all that they associate with Him). Nay, to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth, and all surrender with obedience (in worship) to Him.

[117] بَديعُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضِ ۖ وَإِذا قَضىٰ أَمرًا فَإِنَّما يَقولُ لَهُ كُن فَيَكونُ

[117] তিনি নভোমন্ডল ও ভূমন্ডলের উদ্ভাবক। যখন তিনি কোন কার্য সম্পাদনের সিন্ধান্ত নেন, তখন সেটিকে একথাই বলেন, ‘হয়ে যাও’ তৎক্ষণাৎ তা হয়ে যায়।

[117] The Originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it : “Be!” – and it is.

[118] وَقالَ الَّذينَ لا يَعلَمونَ لَولا يُكَلِّمُنَا اللَّهُ أَو تَأتينا ءايَةٌ ۗ كَذٰلِكَ قالَ الَّذينَ مِن قَبلِهِم مِثلَ قَولِهِم ۘ تَشٰبَهَت قُلوبُهُم ۗ قَد بَيَّنَّا الءايٰتِ لِقَومٍ يوقِنونَ

[118] যারা কিছু জানে না, তারা বলে, আল্লাহ আমাদের সঙ্গে কেন কথা বলেন না? অথবা আমাদের কাছে কোন নিদর্শন কেন আসে না? এমনি ভাবে তাদের পূর্বে যারা ছিল তারাও তাদেরই অনুরূপ কথা বলেছে। তাদের অন্তর একই রকম। নিশ্চয় আমি উজ্জ্বল নিদর্শনসমূহ বর্ণনা করেছি তাদের জন্যে যারা প্রত্যয়শীল।

[118] And those who have no knowledge say: “Why does not Allâh speak to us (face to face) or why does not a sign come to us?” So said the people before them words of similar import. Their hearts are alike, We have indeed made plain the signs for people who believe with certainty.

[119] إِنّا أَرسَلنٰكَ بِالحَقِّ بَشيرًا وَنَذيرًا ۖ وَلا تُسـَٔلُ عَن أَصحٰبِ الجَحيمِ

[119] নিশ্চয় আমি আপনাকে সত্যধর্মসহ সুসংবাদদাতা ও ভীতি প্রদর্শনকারীরূপে পাঠিয়েছি। আপনি দোযখবাসীদের সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞাসিত হবেন না।

[119] Verily, We have sent you (O Muhammad Peace be upon him ) with the truth (Islâm), a bringer of glad tidings (for those who believe in what you brought, that they will enter Paradise) and a warner (for those who disbelieve in what you brought, they will enter the Hell-fire). And you will not be asked about the dwellers of the blazing Fire.

[120] وَلَن تَرضىٰ عَنكَ اليَهودُ وَلَا النَّصٰرىٰ حَتّىٰ تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُم ۗ قُل إِنَّ هُدَى اللَّهِ هُوَ الهُدىٰ ۗ وَلَئِنِ اتَّبَعتَ أَهواءَهُم بَعدَ الَّذى جاءَكَ مِنَ العِلمِ ۙ ما لَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلا نَصيرٍ

[120] ইহুদী ও খ্রীষ্টানরা কখনই আপনার প্রতি সন্তুষ্ট হবে না, যে পর্যন্ত না আপনি তাদের ধর্মের অনুসরণ করেন। বলে দিন, যে পথ আল্লাহ প্রদর্শন করেন, তাই হল সরল পথ। যদি আপনি তাদের আকাঙ্খাসমূহের অনুসরণ করেন, ঐ জ্ঞান লাভের পর, যা আপনার কাছে পৌঁছেছে, তবে কেউ আল্লাহর কবল থেকে আপনার উদ্ধারকারী ও সাহায্যকারী নেই।

[120] Never will the Jews nor the Christians be pleased with you (O Muhammad Peace be upon him ) till you follow their religion. Say: “Verily, the Guidance of Allâh (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism) that is the (only) Guidance. And if you (O Muhammad Peace be upon him ) were to follow their (Jews and Christians) desires after what you have received of Knowledge (i.e. the Qur’ân), then you would have against Allâh neither any Walî (protector or guardian) nor any helper.

[121] الَّذينَ ءاتَينٰهُمُ الكِتٰبَ يَتلونَهُ حَقَّ تِلاوَتِهِ أُولٰئِكَ يُؤمِنونَ بِهِ ۗ وَمَن يَكفُر بِهِ فَأُولٰئِكَ هُمُ الخٰسِرونَ

[121] আমি যাদেরকে গ্রন্থ দান করেছি, তারা তা যথাযথভাবে পাঠ করে। তারাই তৎপ্রতি বিশ্বাস করে। আর যারা তা অবিশ্বাস করে, তারাই হবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত।

[121] Those (who embraced Islâm from Banî Israel) to whom We gave the Book [the Taurât (Torah)] [or those (Muhammad’s Peace be upon him companions) to whom We have given the Book (the Qur’ân)] recite it (i.e. obey its orders and follow its teachings) as it should be recited (i.e. followed), they are the ones that believe therein. And whoso disbelieves in it (the Qur’ân), those are they who are the losers. (Tafsir Al-Qurtubî.)

[122] يٰبَنى إِسرٰءيلَ اذكُروا نِعمَتِىَ الَّتى أَنعَمتُ عَلَيكُم وَأَنّى فَضَّلتُكُم عَلَى العٰلَمينَ

[122] হে বনী-ইসরাঈল! আমার অনুগ্রহের কথা স্মরণ কর, যা আমি তোমাদের দিয়েছি। আমি তোমাদেরকে বিশ্বাবাসীর উপর শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব দান করেছি।

[122] O Children of Israel! Remember My Favour which I bestowed upon you and that I preferred you to the ‘Alamîn (mankind and jinn) (of your time-period, in the past).

[123] وَاتَّقوا يَومًا لا تَجزى نَفسٌ عَن نَفسٍ شَيـًٔا وَلا يُقبَلُ مِنها عَدلٌ وَلا تَنفَعُها شَفٰعَةٌ وَلا هُم يُنصَرونَ

[123] তোমরা ভয় কর সেদিনকে, যে দিন এক ব্যক্তি থেকে অন্য ব্যক্তি বিন্দুমাত্র উপকৃত হবে না, কারও কাছ থেকে বিনিময় গৃহীত হবে না, কার ও সুপারিশ ফলপ্রদ হবে না এবং তারা সাহায্য প্রাপ্ত ও হবে না।

[123] And fear the Day (of Judgement) when no person shall avail another, nor shall compensation be accepted from him, nor shall intercession be of use to him, nor shall they be helped.

[124] ۞ وَإِذِ ابتَلىٰ إِبرٰهۦمَ رَبُّهُ بِكَلِمٰتٍ فَأَتَمَّهُنَّ ۖ قالَ إِنّى جاعِلُكَ لِلنّاسِ إِمامًا ۖ قالَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتى ۖ قالَ لا يَنالُ عَهدِى الظّٰلِمينَ

[124] যখন ইব্রাহীমকে তাঁর পালনকর্তা কয়েকটি বিষয়ে পরীক্ষা করলেন, অতঃপর তিনি তা পূর্ণ করে দিলেন, তখন পালনকর্তা বললেন, আমি তোমাকে মানবজাতির নেতা করব। তিনি বললেন, আমার বংশধর থেকেও! তিনি বললেন আমার অঙ্গীকার অত্যাচারীদের পর্যন্ত পৌঁছাবে না।

[124] And (remember) when the Lord of Ibrâhim (Abraham) [i.e., Allâh] tried him with (certain) Commands, which he fulfilled. He (Allâh) said (to him), “Verily, I am going to make you Imam (a leader) for mankind (to follow you).” [Ibrâhim (Abraham)] said, “And of my offspring (to make leaders).” (Allâh) said, “My Covenant (Prophethood) includes not Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers).”

[125] وَإِذ جَعَلنَا البَيتَ مَثابَةً لِلنّاسِ وَأَمنًا وَاتَّخِذوا مِن مَقامِ إِبرٰهۦمَ مُصَلًّى ۖ وَعَهِدنا إِلىٰ إِبرٰهۦمَ وَإِسمٰعيلَ أَن طَهِّرا بَيتِىَ لِلطّائِفينَ وَالعٰكِفينَ وَالرُّكَّعِ السُّجودِ

[125] যখন আমি কা’বা গৃহকে মানুষের জন্যে সম্মিলন স্থল ও শান্তির আলয় করলাম, আর তোমরা ইব্রাহীমের দাঁড়ানোর জায়গাকে নামাযের জায়গা বানাও এবং আমি ইব্রাহীম ও ইসমাঈলকে আদেশ করলাম, তোমরা আমার গৃহকে তওয়াফকারী, অবস্থানকারী ও রুকু-সেজদাকারীদের জন্য পবিত্র রাখ।

[125] And (remember) when We made the House (the Ka’bah at Makkah) a place of resort for mankind and a place of safety. And take you (people) the Maqâm (place) of Ibrâhim (Abraham) [or the stone on which Ibrâhim (Abraham) A.S. stood while he was building the Ka’bah] as a place of prayer (for some of your prayers, e.g. two Rak’at after the Tawâf of the Ka’bah at Makkah), and We commanded Ibrâhim (Abraham) and Ismâ’il (Ishmael) that they should purify My House (the Ka’bah at Makkah) for those who are circumambulating it, or staying (I’tikâf), or bowing or prostrating themselves (there, in prayer).

[126] وَإِذ قالَ إِبرٰهۦمُ رَبِّ اجعَل هٰذا بَلَدًا ءامِنًا وَارزُق أَهلَهُ مِنَ الثَّمَرٰتِ مَن ءامَنَ مِنهُم بِاللَّهِ وَاليَومِ الءاخِرِ ۖ قالَ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَأُمَتِّعُهُ قَليلًا ثُمَّ أَضطَرُّهُ إِلىٰ عَذابِ النّارِ ۖ وَبِئسَ المَصيرُ

[126] যখন ইব্রাহীম বললেন, পরওয়ারদেগার! এ স্থানকে তুমি শান্তিধান কর এবং এর অধিবাসীদের মধ্যে যারা অল্লাহ ও কিয়ামতে বিশ্বাস করে, তাদেরকে ফলের দ্বারা রিযিক দান কর। বললেনঃ যারা অবিশ্বাস করে, আমি তাদেরও কিছুদিন ফায়দা ভোগ করার সুযোগ দেব, অতঃপর তাদেরকে বলপ্রয়োগে দোযখের আযাবে ঠেলে দেবো; সেটা নিকৃষ্ট বাসস্থান।

[126] And (remember) when Ibrâhim (Abraham) said, “My Lord, make this city (Makkah) a place of security and provide its people with fruits, such of them as believe in Allâh and the Last Day.” He (Allâh) answered: “As for him who disbelieves, I shall leave him in contentment for a while, then I shall compel him to the torment of the Fire, and worst indeed is that destination!”

[127] وَإِذ يَرفَعُ إِبرٰهۦمُ القَواعِدَ مِنَ البَيتِ وَإِسمٰعيلُ رَبَّنا تَقَبَّل مِنّا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ السَّميعُ العَليمُ

[127] স্মরণ কর, যখন ইব্রাহীম ও ইসমাঈল কা’বাগৃহের ভিত্তি স্থাপন করছিল। তারা দোয়া করেছিলঃ পরওয়ারদেগার! আমাদের থেকে কবুল কর। নিশ্চয়ই তুমি শ্রবণকারী, সর্বজ্ঞ।

[127] And (remember) when Ibrâhim (Abraham) and (his son) Ismâ’il (Ishmael) were raising the foundations of the House (the Ka’bah at Makkah), (saying), “Our Lord! Accept (this service) from us. Verily! You are the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.”

[128] رَبَّنا وَاجعَلنا مُسلِمَينِ لَكَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِنا أُمَّةً مُسلِمَةً لَكَ وَأَرِنا مَناسِكَنا وَتُب عَلَينا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ التَّوّابُ الرَّحيمُ

[128] পরওয়ারদেগার! আমাদের উভয়কে তোমার আজ্ঞাবহ কর এবং আমাদের বংশধর থেকেও একটি অনুগত দল সৃষ্টি কর, আমাদের হজ্বের রীতিনীতি বলে দাও এবং আমাদের ক্ষমা কর। নিশ্চয় তুমি তওবা কবুলকারী। দয়ালু।

[128] “Our Lord! And make us submissive unto You and of our offspring a nation submissive unto You, and show us our Manâsik (all the ceremonies of pilgrimage – Hajj and ‘Umrah), and accept our repentance. Truly, You are the One Who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful.

[129] رَبَّنا وَابعَث فيهِم رَسولًا مِنهُم يَتلوا عَلَيهِم ءايٰتِكَ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الكِتٰبَ وَالحِكمَةَ وَيُزَكّيهِم ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ العَزيزُ الحَكيمُ

[129] হে পরওয়ারদেগার! তাদের মধ্যে থেকেই তাদের নিকট একজন পয়গম্বর প্রেরণ করুণ যিনি তাদের কাছে তোমার আয়াতসমূহ তেলাওয়াত করবেন, তাদেরকে কিতাব ও হেকমত শিক্ষা দিবেন। এবং তাদের পবিত্র করবেন। নিশ্চয় তুমিই পরাক্রমশালী হেকমতওয়ালা।

[129] “Our Lord! Send amongst them a Messenger of their own (and indeed Allâh answered their invocation by sending Muhammad Peace be upon him ), who shall recite unto them Your Verses and instruct them in the Book (this Qur’ân) and Al-Hikmah (full knowledge of the Islâmic laws and jurisprudence or wisdom or Prophethood), and purify them. Verily! You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.”

[130] وَمَن يَرغَبُ عَن مِلَّةِ إِبرٰهۦمَ إِلّا مَن سَفِهَ نَفسَهُ ۚ وَلَقَدِ اصطَفَينٰهُ فِى الدُّنيا ۖ وَإِنَّهُ فِى الءاخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصّٰلِحينَ

[130] ইব্রাহীমের ধর্ম থেকে কে মুখ ফেরায়? কিন্তু সে ব্যক্তি, যে নিজেকে বোকা প্রতিপন্ন করে। নিশ্চয়ই আমি তাকে পৃথিবীতে মনোনীত করেছি এবং সে পরকালে সৎকর্মশীলদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।

[130] And who turns away from the religion of Ibrâhim (Abraham) (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism) except him who befools himself? Truly, We chose him in this world and verily, in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous.

[131] إِذ قالَ لَهُ رَبُّهُ أَسلِم ۖ قالَ أَسلَمتُ لِرَبِّ العٰلَمينَ

[131] স্মরণ কর, যখন তাকে তার পালনকর্তা বললেনঃ অনুগত হও। সে বললঃ আমি বিশ্বপালকের অনুগত হলাম।

[131] When his Lord said to him, “Submit (i.e. be a Muslim)!” He said, “I have submitted myself (as a Muslim) to the Lord of the ‘Alamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists).”

[132] وَوَصّىٰ بِها إِبرٰهۦمُ بَنيهِ وَيَعقوبُ يٰبَنِىَّ إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصطَفىٰ لَكُمُ الدّينَ فَلا تَموتُنَّ إِلّا وَأَنتُم مُسلِمونَ

[132] এরই ওছিয়ত করেছে ইব্রাহীম তার সন্তানদের এবং ইয়াকুবও যে, হে আমার সন্তানগণ, নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ তোমাদের জন্য এ ধর্মকে মনোনীত করেছেন। কাজেই তোমরা মুসলমান না হয়ে কখনও মৃত্যুবরণ করো না।

[132] And this (submission to Allâh, Islâm) was enjoined by Ibrâhim (Abraham) upon his sons and by Ya’qûb (Jacob), (saying), “O my sons! Allâh has chosen for you the (true) religion, then die not except in the Faith of Islâm (as Muslims – Islâmic Monotheism).”

[133] أَم كُنتُم شُهَداءَ إِذ حَضَرَ يَعقوبَ المَوتُ إِذ قالَ لِبَنيهِ ما تَعبُدونَ مِن بَعدى قالوا نَعبُدُ إِلٰهَكَ وَإِلٰهَ ءابائِكَ إِبرٰهۦمَ وَإِسمٰعيلَ وَإِسحٰقَ إِلٰهًا وٰحِدًا وَنَحنُ لَهُ مُسلِمونَ

[133] তোমরা কি উপস্থিত ছিলে, যখন ইয়াকুবের মৃত্যু নিকটবর্তী হয়? যখন সে সন্তানদের বললঃ আমার পর তোমরা কার এবাদত করবে? তারা বললো, আমরা তোমার পিতৃ-পুরুষ ইব্রাহীম, ইসমাঈল ও ইসহাকের উপাস্যের এবাদত করব। তিনি একক উপাস্য।

[133] Or were you witnesses when death approached Ya’qûb (Jacob)? When he said unto his sons, “What will you worship after me?” They said, “We shall worship your Ilâh (God – Allâh), the Ilâh (God) of your fathers, Ibrâhim (Abraham), Ismâ’il (Ishmael), Ishâq (Isaac), One Ilâh (God), and to Him we submit (in Islâm).”
