[32] وَمَا الحَيوٰةُ الدُّنيا إِلّا لَعِبٌ وَلَهوٌ ۖ وَلَلدّارُ الءاخِرَةُ خَيرٌ لِلَّذينَ يَتَّقونَ ۗ أَفَلا تَعقِلونَ

[32] পার্থিব জীবন ক্রীড়া ও কৌতুক ব্যতীত কিছুই নয়। পরকালের আবাস পরহেযগারদের জন্যে শ্রেষ্টতর। তোমরা কি বুঝ না ?

[32] And the life of this world is nothing but play and amusement. But far better is the house in the Hereafter for those who are Al¬Muttaqûn (the pious – see V.2:2). Will you not then understand?

[33] قَد نَعلَمُ إِنَّهُ لَيَحزُنُكَ الَّذى يَقولونَ ۖ فَإِنَّهُم لا يُكَذِّبونَكَ وَلٰكِنَّ الظّٰلِمينَ بِـٔايٰتِ اللَّهِ يَجحَدونَ

[33] আমার জানা আছে যে, তাদের উক্তি আপনাকে দুঃখিত করে। অতএব, তারা আপনাকে মিথ্যা প্রতিপন্ন করে না, বরং জালেমরা আল্লাহর নিদর্শনাবলীকে অস্বীকার করে।

[33] We know indeed the grief which their words cause you (O Muhammad SAW): it is not you that they deny, but it is the Verses (the Qur’ân) of Allâh that the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong¬doers) deny.

[34] وَلَقَد كُذِّبَت رُسُلٌ مِن قَبلِكَ فَصَبَروا عَلىٰ ما كُذِّبوا وَأوذوا حَتّىٰ أَتىٰهُم نَصرُنا ۚ وَلا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمٰتِ اللَّهِ ۚ وَلَقَد جاءَكَ مِن نَبَإِي۟ المُرسَلينَ

[34] আপনার পূর্ববর্তী অনেক পয়গম্বরকে মিথ্যা বলা হয়েছে। তাঁরা এতে ছবর করেছেন। তাদের কাছে আমার সাহায্য পৌঁছে পর্যন্ত তারা নির্যাতিত হয়েছেন। আল্লাহর বানী কেউ পরিবর্তন করতে পারে না। আপনার কাছে পয়গম্বরদের কিছু কাহিনী পৌঁছেছে।

[34] Verily, (many) Messengers were denied before you (O Muhammad SAW), but with patience they bore the denial, and they were hurt, till Our Help reached them, and none can alter the Words (Decisions) of Allâh. Surely there has reached you the information (news) about the Messengers (before you)

[35] وَإِن كانَ كَبُرَ عَلَيكَ إِعراضُهُم فَإِنِ استَطَعتَ أَن تَبتَغِىَ نَفَقًا فِى الأَرضِ أَو سُلَّمًا فِى السَّماءِ فَتَأتِيَهُم بِـٔايَةٍ ۚ وَلَو شاءَ اللَّهُ لَجَمَعَهُم عَلَى الهُدىٰ ۚ فَلا تَكونَنَّ مِنَ الجٰهِلينَ

[35] আর যদি তাদের বিমুখতা আপনার পক্ষে কষ্টকর হয়, তবে আপনি যদি ভূতলে কোন সুড়ঙ্গ অথবা আকাশে কোন সিড়ি অনুসন্ধান করতে সমর্থ হন, অতঃপর তাদের কাছে কোন একটি মোজেযা আনতে পারেন, তবে নিয়ে আসুন। আল্লাহ ইচ্ছা করলে সবাইকে সরল পথে সমবেত করতে পারতেন। অতএব, আপনি নির্বোধদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হবেন না।

[35] If their aversion (from you, O Muhammad SAW and from that with which you have been sent) is hard on you, (and you cannot be patient of their harm to you), then if you were able to seek a tunnel in the earth or a ladder to the sky, so that you may bring them a sign (and you cannot do it, so be patient). And had Allâh willed, He could have gathered them together (all) on true guidance, so be not you one of those who are Al-Jâhilûn (the ignorant).

[36] ۞ إِنَّما يَستَجيبُ الَّذينَ يَسمَعونَ ۘ وَالمَوتىٰ يَبعَثُهُمُ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ إِلَيهِ يُرجَعونَ

[36] তারাই মানে, যারা শ্রবণ করে। আল্লাহ মৃতদেরকে জীবিত করে উত্থিত করবেন। অতঃপর তারা তাঁরই দিকে প্রত্যাবর্তিত হবে।

[36] It is only those who listen (to the Message of Prophet Muhammad SAW), will respond (benefit from it), but as for the dead (disbelievers), Allâh will raise them up, then to Him they will be returned (for their recompense).

[37] وَقالوا لَولا نُزِّلَ عَلَيهِ ءايَةٌ مِن رَبِّهِ ۚ قُل إِنَّ اللَّهَ قادِرٌ عَلىٰ أَن يُنَزِّلَ ءايَةً وَلٰكِنَّ أَكثَرَهُم لا يَعلَمونَ

[37] তারা বলেঃ তার প্রতি তার পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে কোন নিদর্শন অবতীর্ণ হয়নি কেন? বলে দিনঃ আল্লাহ নিদর্শন অবতরণ করতে পূর্ন সক্ষম; কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই জানে না।

[37] And they said: “Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?” Say: “Allâh is certainly Able to send down a sign, but most of them know not.”

[38] وَما مِن دابَّةٍ فِى الأَرضِ وَلا طٰئِرٍ يَطيرُ بِجَناحَيهِ إِلّا أُمَمٌ أَمثالُكُم ۚ ما فَرَّطنا فِى الكِتٰبِ مِن شَيءٍ ۚ ثُمَّ إِلىٰ رَبِّهِم يُحشَرونَ

[38] আর যত প্রকার প্রাণী পৃথিবীতে বিচরণশীল রয়েছে এবং যত প্রকার পাখী দু’ ডানাযোগে উড়ে বেড়ায় তারা সবাই তোমাদের মতই একেকটি শ্রেণী। আমি কোন কিছু লিখতে ছাড়িনি। অতঃপর সবাই স্বীয় প্রতিপালকের কাছে সমবেত হবে।

[38] There is not a moving (living) creature on earth, nor a bird that flies with its two wings, but are communities like you. We have neglected nothing in the Book, then unto their Lord they (all) shall be gathered.

[39] وَالَّذينَ كَذَّبوا بِـٔايٰتِنا صُمٌّ وَبُكمٌ فِى الظُّلُمٰتِ ۗ مَن يَشَإِ اللَّهُ يُضلِلهُ وَمَن يَشَأ يَجعَلهُ عَلىٰ صِرٰطٍ مُستَقيمٍ

[39] যারা আমার নিদর্শনসমূহকে মিথ্যা বলে, তারা অন্ধকারের মধ্যে মূক ও বধির। আল্লাহ যাকে ইচ্ছা পথভ্রষ্ট করেন এবং যাকে ইচ্ছা সরল পথে পরিচালিত করেন।

[39] Those who reject Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) are deaf and dumb in darkness. Allâh sends astray whom He wills and He guides on the Straight Path whom He wills.

[40] قُل أَرَءَيتَكُم إِن أَتىٰكُم عَذابُ اللَّهِ أَو أَتَتكُمُ السّاعَةُ أَغَيرَ اللَّهِ تَدعونَ إِن كُنتُم صٰدِقينَ

[40] বলুন, বলতো দেখি, যদি তোমাদের উপর আল্লাহর শাস্তি পতিত হয় কিংবা তোমাদের কাছে কিয়ামত এসে যায়, তবে তোমরা কি আল্লাহ ব্যতীত অন্যকে ডাকবে যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হও।

[40] Say (O Muhammad SAW): “Tell me if Allâh’s Torment comes upon you, or the Hour comes upon you, would you then call upon any one other than Allâh? (Reply) if you are truthful!”

[41] بَل إِيّاهُ تَدعونَ فَيَكشِفُ ما تَدعونَ إِلَيهِ إِن شاءَ وَتَنسَونَ ما تُشرِكونَ

[41] বরং তোমরা তো তাঁকেই ডাকবে। অতঃপর যে বিপদের জন্যে তাঁকে ডাকবে, তিনি ইচ্ছা করলে তা দুরও করে দেন। যাদেরকে অংশীদার করছ, তখন তাদেরকে ভুলে যাবে।

[41] Nay! To Him Alone you would call, and, if He wills, He would remove that (distress) for which you call upon Him, and you would forget at that time whatever partners you joined (with Him in worship)!

[42] وَلَقَد أَرسَلنا إِلىٰ أُمَمٍ مِن قَبلِكَ فَأَخَذنٰهُم بِالبَأساءِ وَالضَّرّاءِ لَعَلَّهُم يَتَضَرَّعونَ

[42] আর আমি আপনার পূর্ববর্তী উম্মতদের প্রতিও পয়গম্বর প্রেরণ করেছিলাম। অতঃপর আমি তাদেরকে অভাব-অনটন ও রোগ-ব্যধি দ্বারা পাকড়াও করেছিলাম যাতে তারা কাকুতি মিনতি করে।

[42] Verily, We sent (Messengers) to many nations before you (O Muhammad SAW). And We seized them with extreme poverty (or loss in wealth) and loss in health with calamities so that they might believe with humility.

[43] فَلَولا إِذ جاءَهُم بَأسُنا تَضَرَّعوا وَلٰكِن قَسَت قُلوبُهُم وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيطٰنُ ما كانوا يَعمَلونَ

[43] অতঃপর তাদের কাছে যখন আমার আযাব আসল, তখন কেন কাকুতি-মিনতি করল না ? বস্তুতঃ তাদের অন্তর কঠোর হয়ে গেল এবং শয়তান তাদের কাছে সুশোভিত করে দেখাল, যে কাজ তারা করছিল।

[43] When Our Torment reached them, why then did they not humble themselves (believe with humility)? But their hearts became hardened, and Shaitân (Satan) made fair-seeming to them that which they used to do.

[44] فَلَمّا نَسوا ما ذُكِّروا بِهِ فَتَحنا عَلَيهِم أَبوٰبَ كُلِّ شَيءٍ حَتّىٰ إِذا فَرِحوا بِما أوتوا أَخَذنٰهُم بَغتَةً فَإِذا هُم مُبلِسونَ

[44] অতঃপর তারা যখন ঐ উপদেশ ভুলে গেল, যা তাদেরকে দেয়া হয়েছিল, তখন আমি তাদের সামনে সব কিছুর দ্বার উম্মুক্ত করে দিলাম। এমনকি, যখন তাদেরকে প্রদত্ত বিষয়াদির জন্যে তারা খুব গর্বিত হয়ে পড়ল, তখন আমি অকস্মাৎ তাদেরকে পাকড়াও করলাম। তখন তারা নিরাশ হয়ে গেল।

[44] So, when they forgot (the warning) with which they had been reminded, We opened for them the gates of every (pleasant) thing, until in the midst of their enjoyment in that which they were given, all of a sudden, We took them (in punishment), and lo! They were plunged into destruction with deep regrets and sorrows.

[45] فَقُطِعَ دابِرُ القَومِ الَّذينَ ظَلَموا ۚ وَالحَمدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ العٰلَمينَ

[45] অতঃপর জালেমদের মূল শিকড় কর্তিত হল। সমস্ত প্রশংসা আল্লাহরই জন্যে, যিনি বিশ্বজগতের পালনকর্তা।

[45] So the roots of the people who did wrong was cut off. And all the praises and thanks are to Allâh, the Lord of the ‘Alamîn (mankind, jinn, and all that exists).

[46] قُل أَرَءَيتُم إِن أَخَذَ اللَّهُ سَمعَكُم وَأَبصٰرَكُم وَخَتَمَ عَلىٰ قُلوبِكُم مَن إِلٰهٌ غَيرُ اللَّهِ يَأتيكُم بِهِ ۗ انظُر كَيفَ نُصَرِّفُ الءايٰتِ ثُمَّ هُم يَصدِفونَ

[46] আপনি বলুনঃ বল তো দেখি, যদি আল্লাহ তোমাদের কান ও চোখ নিয়ে যান এবং তোমাদের অন্তরে মোহর এঁটে দেন, তবে এবং তোমাদের আল্লাহ ব্যতীত এমন উপাস্য কে আছে, যে তোমাদেরকে এগুলো এনে দেবে? দেখ, আমি কিভাবে ঘুরিয়ে-ফিরিয়ে নিদর্শনাবলী বর্ণনা করি। তথাপি তারা বিমুখ হচ্ছে।

[46] Say (to the disbelievers): “Tell me, if Allâh took away your hearing and your sight, and sealed up your hearts, who is there – an ilâh (a god) other than Allâh who could restore them to you?” See how variously We explain the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), yet they turn aside.

[47] قُل أَرَءَيتَكُم إِن أَتىٰكُم عَذابُ اللَّهِ بَغتَةً أَو جَهرَةً هَل يُهلَكُ إِلَّا القَومُ الظّٰلِمونَ

[47] বলে দিনঃ দেখতো, যদি আল্লাহর শাস্তি, আকস্মিক কিংবা প্রকাশ্যে তোমাদের উপর আসে, তবে জালেম, সম্প্রদায় ব্যতীত কে ধ্বংস হবে?

[47] Say: “Tell me, if the punishment of Allâh comes to you suddenly (during the night), or openly (during the day), will any be destroyed except the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doing people)?”

[48] وَما نُرسِلُ المُرسَلينَ إِلّا مُبَشِّرينَ وَمُنذِرينَ ۖ فَمَن ءامَنَ وَأَصلَحَ فَلا خَوفٌ عَلَيهِم وَلا هُم يَحزَنونَ

[48] আমি পয়গম্বরদেরকে প্রেরণ করি না, কিন্তু সুসংবাদাতা ও ভীতি প্রদর্শকরূপে অতঃপর যে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে এবং সংশোধিত হয়, তাদের কোন শঙ্কা নেই এবং তারা দুঃখিত হবে না।

[48] And We send not the Messengers but as givers of glad tidings and as warners. So whosoever believes and does righteous good deeds, upon such shall come no fear, nor shall they grieve.

[49] وَالَّذينَ كَذَّبوا بِـٔايٰتِنا يَمَسُّهُمُ العَذابُ بِما كانوا يَفسُقونَ

[49] যারা আমার নিদর্শনাবলীকে মিথ্যা বলে, তাদেরকে তাদের নাফরমানীর কারণে আযাব স্পর্শ করবে।

[49] But those who reject Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), the torment will touch them for their disbelief (and for their belying the Message of Muhammad SAW). [Tafsir Al-Qurtubî].

[50] قُل لا أَقولُ لَكُم عِندى خَزائِنُ اللَّهِ وَلا أَعلَمُ الغَيبَ وَلا أَقولُ لَكُم إِنّى مَلَكٌ ۖ إِن أَتَّبِعُ إِلّا ما يوحىٰ إِلَىَّ ۚ قُل هَل يَستَوِى الأَعمىٰ وَالبَصيرُ ۚ أَفَلا تَتَفَكَّرونَ

[50] আপনি বলুনঃ আমি তোমাদেরকে বলি না যে, আমার কাছে আল্লাহর ভান্ডার রয়েছে। তাছাড়া আমি অদৃশ্য বিষয় অবগতও নই। আমি এমন বলি না যে, আমি ফেরেশতা। আমি তো শুধু ঐ ওহীর অনুসরণ করি, যা আমার কাছে আসে। আপনি বলে দিনঃ অন্ধ ও চক্ষুমান কি সমান হতে পারে? তোমরা কি চিন্তা কর না ?

[50] Say (O Muhammad SAW): “I don’t tell you that with me are the treasures of Allâh, nor (that) I know the unseen; nor I tell you that I am an angel. I but follow what is revealed to me.” Say: “Are the blind and the one who sees equal? will you not then take thought?”

[51] وَأَنذِر بِهِ الَّذينَ يَخافونَ أَن يُحشَروا إِلىٰ رَبِّهِم ۙ لَيسَ لَهُم مِن دونِهِ وَلِىٌّ وَلا شَفيعٌ لَعَلَّهُم يَتَّقونَ

[51] আপনি এ কোরআন দ্বারা তাদেরকে ভয়-প্রদর্শন করুন, যারা আশঙ্কা করে স্বীয় পালনকর্তার কাছে এমতাবস্থায় একত্রিত হওয়ার যে, তাদের কোন সাহায্যকারী ও সুপারিশকারী হবে না-যাতে তারা গোনাহ থেকে বেঁচে থাকে।

[51] And warn therewith (the Qur’ân) those who fear that they will be gathered before their Lord, when there will be neither a protector nor an intercessor for them besides Him, so that they may fear Allâh and keep their duty to Him (by abstaining from committing sins and by doing all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained).
