[21] ۞ وَقالَ الَّذينَ لا يَرجونَ لِقاءَنا لَولا أُنزِلَ عَلَينَا المَلٰئِكَةُ أَو نَرىٰ رَبَّنا ۗ لَقَدِ استَكبَروا فى أَنفُسِهِم وَعَتَو عُتُوًّا كَبيرًا
[21] যারা আমার সাক্ষাৎ আশা করে না, তারা বলে, আমাদের কাছে ফেরেশতা অবতীর্ণ করা হল না কেন? অথবা আমরা আমাদের পালনকর্তাকে দেখি না কেন? তারা নিজেদের অন্তরে অহংকার পোষণ করে এবং গুরুতর অবাধ্যতায় মেতে উঠেছে।
[21] And those who expect not a Meeting with Us (i.e. those who deny the Day of Resurrection and the life of the Hereafter), said: “Why are not the angels sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord?” Indeed they think too highly of themselves, and are scornful with great pride.

[22] يَومَ يَرَونَ المَلٰئِكَةَ لا بُشرىٰ يَومَئِذٍ لِلمُجرِمينَ وَيَقولونَ حِجرًا مَحجورًا
[22] যেদিন তারা ফেরেশতাদেরকে দেখবে, সেদিন অপরাধীদের জন্যে কোন সুসংবাদ থাকবে না এবং তারা বলবে, কোন বাধা যদি তা আটকে রাখত।
[22] On the Day they will see the angels,— no glad tidings will there be for the Mujrimûn (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners) that day. And they (angels) will say: “All kinds of glad tidings are forbidden to you,” [none will be allowed to enter Paradise except the one who said: Lâ ilâha ill-allâh, “(none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh) and acted practically on its legal orders and obligations. [See the foot note of v.2:193]

[23] وَقَدِمنا إِلىٰ ما عَمِلوا مِن عَمَلٍ فَجَعَلنٰهُ هَباءً مَنثورًا
[23] আমি তাদের কৃতকর্মের প্রতি মনোনিবেশ করব, অতঃপর সেগুলোকে বিক্ষিপ্ত ধুলিকণারূপে করে দেব।
[23] And We shall turn to whatever deeds they (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners) did, and We shall make such deeds as scattered floating particles of dust.

[24] أَصحٰبُ الجَنَّةِ يَومَئِذٍ خَيرٌ مُستَقَرًّا وَأَحسَنُ مَقيلًا
[24] সেদিন জান্নাতীদের বাসস্থান হবে উত্তম এবং বিশ্রামস্থল হবে মনোরম।
[24] The dwellers of Paradise (i.e. those who deserved it through their Islamic Monotheistic Faith and their deed of righteousness) will, on that Day, have the best abode, and have the fairest of places for repose.

[25] وَيَومَ تَشَقَّقُ السَّماءُ بِالغَمٰمِ وَنُزِّلَ المَلٰئِكَةُ تَنزيلًا
[25] সেদিন আকাশ মেঘমালাসহ বিদীর্ণ হবে এবং সেদিন ফেরেশতাদের নামিয়ে দেয়া হবে,
[25] And (remember) the Day when the heaven shall be rent asunder with clouds, and the angels will be sent down, with a grand descending.

[26] المُلكُ يَومَئِذٍ الحَقُّ لِلرَّحمٰنِ ۚ وَكانَ يَومًا عَلَى الكٰفِرينَ عَسيرًا
[26] সেদিন সত্যিকার রাজত্ব হবে দয়াময় আল্লাহর এবং কাফেরদের পক্ষে দিনটি হবে কঠিন।
[26] The sovereignty on that Day will be the true (sovereignty), belonging to the Most Gracious (Allâh), and it will be a hard Day for the disbelievers (those who disbelieve in the Oneness of Allâh Islâmic Monotheism).

[27] وَيَومَ يَعَضُّ الظّالِمُ عَلىٰ يَدَيهِ يَقولُ يٰلَيتَنِى اتَّخَذتُ مَعَ الرَّسولِ سَبيلًا
[27] জালেম সেদিন আপন হস্তদ্বয় দংশন করতে করতে বলবে, হায় আফসোস! আমি যদি রসূলের সাথে পথ অবলম্বন করতাম।
[27] And (remember) the Day when the Zâlim (wrong-doer, oppressor, polytheist) will bite at his hands, he will say: “Oh! Would that I had taken a path with the Messenger ( Muhammad SAW).

[28] يٰوَيلَتىٰ لَيتَنى لَم أَتَّخِذ فُلانًا خَليلًا
[28] হায় আমার দূর্ভাগ্য, আমি যদি অমুককে বন্ধুরূপে গ্রহণ না করতাম।
[28] “Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a Khalil (an intimate friend)!

[29] لَقَد أَضَلَّنى عَنِ الذِّكرِ بَعدَ إِذ جاءَنى ۗ وَكانَ الشَّيطٰنُ لِلإِنسٰنِ خَذولًا
[29] আমার কাছে উপদেশ আসার পর সে আমাকে তা থেকে বিভ্রান্ত করেছিল। শয়তান মানুষকে বিপদকালে ধোঁকা দেয়।
[29] “He indeed led me astray from the Reminder (this Qur’ân) after it had come to me. And Shaitân (Satan) is to man ever a deserter in the hour of need.” (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi)

[30] وَقالَ الرَّسولُ يٰرَبِّ إِنَّ قَومِى اتَّخَذوا هٰذَا القُرءانَ مَهجورًا
[30] রসূল বললেনঃ হে আমার পালনকর্তা, আমার সম্প্রদায় এই কোরআনকে প্রলাপ সাব্যস্ত করেছে।
[30] And the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) will say: “O my Lord! Verily, my people deserted this Qur’ân (neither listened to it, nor acted on its laws and teachings).

[31] وَكَذٰلِكَ جَعَلنا لِكُلِّ نَبِىٍّ عَدُوًّا مِنَ المُجرِمينَ ۗ وَكَفىٰ بِرَبِّكَ هادِيًا وَنَصيرًا
[31] এমনিভাবে প্রত্যেক নবীর জন্যে আমি অপরাধীদের মধ্য থেকে শত্রু করেছি। আপনার জন্যে আপনার পালনকর্তা পথপ্রদর্শক ও সাহায্যকারীরূপে যথেষ্ট।
[31] Thus have We made for every Prophet an enemy among the Mujrimûn (disbelievers, polytheists, criminals). But Sufficient is your Lord as a Guide and Helper.

[32] وَقالَ الَّذينَ كَفَروا لَولا نُزِّلَ عَلَيهِ القُرءانُ جُملَةً وٰحِدَةً ۚ كَذٰلِكَ لِنُثَبِّتَ بِهِ فُؤادَكَ ۖ وَرَتَّلنٰهُ تَرتيلًا
[32] সত্য প্রত্যাখানকারীরা বলে, তাঁর প্রতি সমগ্র কোরআন একদফায় অবতীর্ণ হল না কেন? আমি এমনিভাবে অবতীর্ণ করেছি এবং ক্রমে ক্রমে আবৃত্তি করেছি আপনার অন্তকরণকে মজবুত করার জন্যে।
[32] And those who disbelieve say: “Why is not the Qur’ân revealed to him all at once?” Thus (it is sent down in parts), that We may strengthen your heart thereby. And We have revealed it to you gradually, in stages. (It was revealed to the Prophet SAW in 23 years.).

[33] وَلا يَأتونَكَ بِمَثَلٍ إِلّا جِئنٰكَ بِالحَقِّ وَأَحسَنَ تَفسيرًا
[33] তারা আপনার কাছে কোন সমস্যা উপস্থাপিত করলেই আমি আপনাকে তার সঠিক জওয়াব ও সুন্দর ব্যাখ্যা দান করি।
[33] And no example or similitude do they bring (to oppose or to find fault in you or in this Qur’ân), but We reveal to you the truth (against that similitude or example), and the better explanation thereof.

[34] الَّذينَ يُحشَرونَ عَلىٰ وُجوهِهِم إِلىٰ جَهَنَّمَ أُولٰئِكَ شَرٌّ مَكانًا وَأَضَلُّ سَبيلًا
[34] যাদেরকে মুখ থুবড়ে পড়ে থাকা অবস্থায় জাহান্নামের দিকে একত্রিত করা হবে, তাদেরই স্থান হবে নিকৃষ্ট এবং তারাই পথভ্রষ্ট।
[34] Those who will be gathered to Hell (prone) on their faces, such will be in an evil state, and most astray from the (Straight) Path.

[35] وَلَقَد ءاتَينا موسَى الكِتٰبَ وَجَعَلنا مَعَهُ أَخاهُ هٰرونَ وَزيرًا
[35] আমি তো মূসাকে কিতাব দিয়েছি এবং তাঁর সাথে তাঁর ভ্রাতা হারুনকে সাহায্যকারী করেছি।
[35] And indeed We gave Mûsa (Moses) the Scripture [the Taurât (Torah)], and placed his brother Hârûn (Aaron) with him as a helper;

[36] فَقُلنَا اذهَبا إِلَى القَومِ الَّذينَ كَذَّبوا بِـٔايٰتِنا فَدَمَّرنٰهُم تَدميرًا
[36] অতঃপর আমি বলেছি, তোমরা সেই সম্প্রদায়ের কাছে যাও, যারা আমার আয়াতসমূহকে মিথ্যা অভিহিত করেছে। অতঃপর আমি তাদেরকে সমূলে ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছি।
[36] And We said: “Go you both to the people who have denied Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).” Then We destroyed them with utter destruction

[37] وَقَومَ نوحٍ لَمّا كَذَّبُوا الرُّسُلَ أَغرَقنٰهُم وَجَعَلنٰهُم لِلنّاسِ ءايَةً ۖ وَأَعتَدنا لِلظّٰلِمينَ عَذابًا أَليمًا
[37] নূহের সম্প্রদায় যখন রসূলগণের প্রতি মিথ্যারোপ করল, তখন আমি তাদেরকে নিমজ্জত করলাম এবং তাদেরকে মানবমন্ডলীর জন্যে নিদর্শন করে দিলাম। জালেমদের জন্যে আমি যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তি প্রস্তুত করে রেখেছি।
[37] And Nûh’s (Noah) people, when they denied the Messengers We drowned them, and We made them as a sign for mankind. And We have prepared a painful torment for the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers).

[38] وَعادًا وَثَمودَا۟ وَأَصحٰبَ الرَّسِّ وَقُرونًا بَينَ ذٰلِكَ كَثيرًا
[38] আমি ধ্বংস করেছি আদ, সামুদ, কপবাসী এবং তাদের মধ্যবর্তী অনেক সম্প্রদায়কে।
[38] And (also) ‘Ad and Thamûd, and the Dwellers of Ar-Rass, and many generations in between.

[39] وَكُلًّا ضَرَبنا لَهُ الأَمثٰلَ ۖ وَكُلًّا تَبَّرنا تَتبيرًا
[39] আমি প্রত্যেকের জন্যেই দৃষ্টান্ত বর্ণনা করেছি এবং প্রত্যেককেই সম্পুর্ণরূপে ধ্বংস করেছি।
[39] And for each (of them) We put forward examples (as proofs and lessons), and each (of them) We brought to utter ruin (because of their disbelief and evil deeds).

[40] وَلَقَد أَتَوا عَلَى القَريَةِ الَّتى أُمطِرَت مَطَرَ السَّوءِ ۚ أَفَلَم يَكونوا يَرَونَها ۚ بَل كانوا لا يَرجونَ نُشورًا
[40] তারা তো সেই জনপদের উপর দিয়েই যাতায়াত করে, যার ওপর বর্ষিত হয়েছে মন্দ বৃষ্টি। তবে কি তারা তা প্রত্যক্ষ করে না? বরং তারা পুনরুজ্জীবনের আশঙ্কা করে না।
[40] And indeed they have passed by the town [of Prophet Lut (Lot)] on which was rained the evil rain. Did they (disbelievers) not then see it (with their own eyes)? Nay ! But they used not to expect any resurrection.
